PlayGround has announced the lineup for the inaugural PlayGround Solo Performance Festival, a celebration of the best in Bay Area solo performance, running January 11-28 at Potrero Stage. The festival features 36 performances by 8 local artists over three week, including new works by Lisa Evans, Malcolm Grissom, Marjorie Hazeltine, Michael Phillis, Katie Rubin, Thomas Robert Simpson, Nina Wise, and Dan Wolf, each running about an hour. The festival, one of PlayGround's new pop-up programs, represents an extension of PlayGround's mission and commitment to the discovery of bold new voices for the stage and the first PlayGround offering fully dedicated to solo performance. Superstar Songwriters Pay Tribute To Hank Cochran & Red Lane

Superstar songwriters Rafe Van Hoy, Marla Cannon-Goodman, Dale Dodson, Waylon Payne, Don Sampson and Ronnie Bowman will pay tribute to Hank Cochran and Red Lane at 3rd & Lindsley (816 3rd Ave. South) on Wednesday, January 17 to benefit The Hank Cochran Pen Fund. Tickets are $10; doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30. The 501(c)(3) charity focuses its efforts on financially assisting songwriters with cancer.
