General Director and CEO Deborah Sandler Kemper has announced the commission of two operas created to be presented in community spaces where audiences of all ages gather. The Haberdasher Prince by the twin-sister creative team of composer Rosabella Gregory and librettist Dina Gregory will premiere in April 2024. Maya and the Magic Ring by composer Lori Laitman and librettist Dana Gioia will premiere in spring 2025.

Fuel has announced its programme of work for autumn 2023. The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs has announced the recipients of the 2022/23 City of Los Angeles Individual Master Artist Project. These ten master artists will each produce a series, set, or singular new artwork with a grant of $10,000 from the City of Los Angeles.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Georgetown University will celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a free, ticketed musical tribute, the Let Freedom Ring Celebration. The annual program, part of the Center’s Millennium Stage free daily performance series, features Leslie Odom, Jr.
