BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Donald R. Seawell, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Broadway producer and the first to bring the Royal Shakespeare Company to New York, died today, September 30, 2015. He was 103.

Music Director Alan Gilbert will conduct the New York Philharmonic in an all-Mozart program: his Divertimento in D major, K.136/125a; Horn Concerto No. 2, with Principal Horn Philip Myers; and Serenade for 13 Winds, Gran partita. The concerts take place Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, November 5 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, November 6 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, November 7 at 8:00 p.m.

Iconic artist Charlie Daniels has produced a new song that uniquely captures the road that the cowboys endure to qualify for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas to seek the coveted Gold Buckle and title of world champion.

The Aviva Players will begin its 40th season on October 16 with 'Songs, Piano Rags & Chamber Music by Women Composers, including the Piano Trio by Fanny Mendelssohn,' the first installment of a three-part concert series at Opera America, 330 Seventh Ave.  The concert will include piano rags by May Frances Aufderheide, Irene Giblin and Adeline Shepard; songs by Mira J. Spektor, and 'Vocal Duets' and 'The Piano Trio' by Fanny Mendelssohn.  The evening is presented in conjunction with Downtown Music Productions.

Details of the 38th season of Les Arts Florissants, the internationally renowned Baroque music ensemble founded by William Christie, have just been announced and include more than 100 performances of chamber and sacred music, opera, oratorio, dance, and semi-staged presentations at some 20 cities across France, and concerts in 10 countries in Europe and North America, as well as Les Arts Florissants' first season as a resident ensemble of the new Philharmonie de Paris.
