Dorset Theatre Festival, under the leadership of Artistic Director Dina Janis and Producing Director Will Rucker, will open the 42nd Season on June 20 with a revival of Noel Coward's classic comedy, PRIVATE LIVES directed by Evan Yionoulis.

The French Institute Alliance Fran aise (FIAF) honors the great French composer Michel Legrand, who died in January this year, with a special Cin Salon series devoted to his life and work. Curated by one of his longtime collaborators and greatest interpreters, singer and actress Melissa Errico, Summer of Michel Legrand brings together seven of his films from his best known triumphs such as The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and The Young Girls of Rochefort to lesser known gems such as the enchanting fairy-tale musical Donkey Skin. Screenings take place on Tuesdays in July at 4pm and 7:30pm in FIAF's Florence Gould Hall.

David McVicar's acclaimed production of Mozart's THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO Returns To The Royal Opera for its sixth revival since its 2006 premiere. Renowned English conductor John Eliot Gardiner leads a stellar cast, including German baritone Christian Gerhaher as Figaro, American soprano Joelle Harvey as his beloved Susanna, German soprano Julia Kleiter in her Royal Opera debut as Countess Almaviva and British baritone Simon Keenlyside as her philandering husband Count Almaviva.

Opera Theatre of St. Louis has opened its 44th festival season. This is St. Louis' prized centerpiece of opera, with a world-wide reputation. It is famous for its superb productions. The company's home is the beautiful and comfortable 763-seat Browning Theatre at Webster University. Gourmet picnic suppers may be enjoyed before the show on the lovely grounds of the theater. CLUE is one of the most confusing, crazy, wacky shows I've seen yet. Midland University Performing Arts delivered an evening of laughs with Jonathan Lynn's murder mystery based on the 1985 film of the same name. The film was based on the classic board game Clue, which originated in 1949 under the name 'Cluedo' by Englishman Anthony E. Pratt. CLUE was also adapted as a musical Off Broadway in 1996 by Peter DePietro. You just can't kill this thing.

The New Line Theatre is such a reliable source of great musical theater. Now they have opened a very fine production of what, curiously, has become something of a beloved old standard-La Cage aux Folles.

The rare presence of Hollywood star Cate Blanchett on a London stage has caused a box office frenzy, but sadly this would-be provocative vehicle - Martin Crimp's loose variations on Samuel Richardson's 1740 proto-novel Pamela, directed by Katie Mitchell - isn't worthy of her talents, nor those of the excellent Stephen Dillane.

British conductor Michael Francis is known to San Diego concert goers as the music director of the city's Mainly Mozart Festival. Since taking the job four years ago he has embarked on an ambitious chronological survey of the music of the composer who inspired the festival's name. On this evening he traveled a few blocks north and half a musical century forward to appear as guest conductor of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra in a program of works by 'The Young Romantics.' The enthusiastic reaction he received after the performance may increase the chances he will be called on again in future Symphony seasons.

Underground Railway Theater is proud to present Bedlam's Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw. Bedlam's Pygmalion runs from January 31 - March 3, 2019 and is directed by Bedlam Artistic Director Eric Tucker. The press performance is Monday, February 4 at 7:30PM.
