Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Arthur Miller was renowned and celebrated for his masterpiece DEATH OF A SALESMAN, as well as ALL MY SONS and THE CRUCIBLE, plays in which issues of morality took center stage. He refused to name names when called before the House Un-American Activities Committee, spoke out agains the Vietnam War, and was an activist in many social causes, allowing him to be seen as the moral conscience of the nation. However, Bernard Weinraub reveals Miller's feet of clay in the world premiere of his play FALL, directed by Peter DuBois at Huntington Theatre Company's Calderwood Pavilion.

Michael Franti & Spearhead are set to tour the U.S. this summer, beginning June 1 at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. The “Stay Human” Tour comes in anticipation of Franti's upcoming new album Stay Human 2, due this June, and provides the soundtrack for Franti's forthcoming self-directed documentary, Stay Human.

Novato Theater Company continues its entertaining and provocative 2017- 2018 season with the Arthur Miller classic, Death of a Salesman, one of the greatest plays in American Theatre. The NTC production is directed by Carl Jordan and produced by Candace Brown and Nick Moore. Death of a Salesman runs February 1-18 at the NTC Playhouse, 5420 Nave Drive in Novato.

On Tuesday 16 January, Belarus Free Theatre will host the next Kitchen Revolution supper club, featuring celebrated Russian-American journalist and leading LGBT activist Masha Gessen. The evening will be chaired by Hazel Healey, editor at the New Internationalist magazine, and will also feature Occupy activist and news commentator Jamie Kelsey-Fry.

Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced its 2017-18 Artists in Residence. 'I started the Artists in Residence program about 25 years ago to provide artistic and financial support to early-career artists, giving them a theatre to call home and to provide peace of mind for a sustainable career,' says Roundabout Artistic Director Todd Haimes. 'Over the years, this program has evolved to include playwrights, mid-career directors and even an entire young company. Bruce Springsteen makes his Broadway with Springsteen on Broadway, a solo show at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street). Springsteen on Broadway opens officially tonight, Thursday, October 12. Springsteen will perform five shows a week through February 3, 2018.

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the Globe's 20th annual production of Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas!* The holiday musical will run November 4 - December 24 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

On Thursday, October 5, 2017, Dennis LaBarre, current Chairman of the Board of The Cleveland Orchestra, will receive The Cleveland Orchestra's twenty-second annual Distinguished Service Award. The Musical Arts Association, the governing non-profit organization of The Cleveland Orchestra, established the annual Distinguished Service Award in 1996 to recognize ongoing and extraordinary service to the Orchestra. Mr. LaBarre will receive the award at the start of the Orchestra's Thursday evening concert at Severance Hall on October 5, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The Cleveland Orchestra and Music Director Franz Welser-Most will give the world premiere performances of Topos, a new work by Anthony Cheung, at the Orchestra's Severance Hall concerts May 18 and 20, 2017.  Mr. Cheung is in his second season as the Orchestra's ninth Daniel R. Lewis Young Composer Fellow.  Prior to each of the concerts on May 18 and 20, Cheung will participate in a 'Meet the Composer' talk in Reinberger Chamber Hall with Rabbi Roger C. Klein of The Temple-Tifereth Israel.
