Director Kabir Singh Chowdhry's Mehsampur – a fascinating Punjabi meta-fiction mockumentary will have its India Premiere at the 20th Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival With Star.

From October 31 - November 4 at The Harman Center for the Arts in the heart of the nation's capital, The Washington Ballet will showcase its range of abilities and depth of versatility in an extraordinary program that pays tribute to the 20th century's most accomplished American modern choreographers. Contemporary Masters will include iconic works by three of the greatest influencers of modern American dance, Mark Morris, Merce Cunningham and Paul Taylor.

Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) today announced a new initiative, a three-week, multi-disciplinary Bach Festival featuring 15 concerts across three venues in Manhattan, June 6-22, 2019. The programmatic centerpieces include performances by Paul Taylor Dance Company and the Goldberg Variations, which receives two interpretations - including the U.S. premiere of Bernard Labadie's orchestral setting - and provides the Festival theme: 'Transformation.'

Wendy will discuss the process of changing her book from a memoir to a novel and answer questions about her experiences of living in Israel for 3 years. The novel, however, is a love story: with the land and its people and with a particular Israeli man, a charming enigma, dangerous but irresistible.

My heart is full for many reasons, not the least of which is that I can say, henceforth, that the last production of Steel Magnolias that I reviewed - this one at The Larry Keeton Theatre in Donelson through Saturday, September 1 - was almost as good as that very first production I saw in Chicago in the summer of 1988. In fact, direct Donna Driver and her cast deliver a reading of Steel Magnolias that is as close to what Robert Harling wrote more than 30 years ago as any I've ever seen.

Actor's Express today announced that it is a grantee recipient of Bloomberg Philanthropies' Arts Innovation and Management (AIM) program. The invitation-only program seeks to strengthen the organizational capacity and programming of small and mid-size cultural organizations within Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Denver, New Orleans, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. Through the $43 million multi-year initiative, Bloomberg Philanthropies will provide unrestricted general operating support as well as arts management training in areas that include fundraising, strategic planning, marketing and board development.

Uncovering the lives and works of four groundbreaking visual artists, American Masters presents an "Artists Flight" of new documentaries, premiering Fridays, August 31-September 14 on PBS (check local listings). Four films tell the stories of four artists: Eva Hesse, the 1960s art world icon who changed art history and women's place in the picture; New York contemporary art maverick Elizabeth Murray; painter Andrew Wyeth, one of America's most popular, but least understood, artists; and Jean-Michel Basquiat, the New York graffiti artist turned '80s art world rock star who died 30 years ago (August 12, 1988). Each film will be available to stream the following day via pbs.org/americanmasters and PBS apps.

Following the success of I Don't Know and Never Will in March, Liss Fain Dance returns this fall with a "recomposition" featuring a new installation design by Matthew Antaky, costumes by Mary Domenico and original music performed live by composer and percussionist Jordan Glenn alongside Nava Dunkelman and Jacob Felix Heule. The Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC), led by Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Nuñez, was named "Choir of the World" following two first-place wins in the 'Children's Choir' and 'Contemporary Choral Music' categories at the 18th biennial International Choral Kathaumixw competition and festival in Powell River, British Columbia, Canada, from July 3-7, 2018. Festival Artistic Director Walter Martella announced YPC as the "Choir of the World" during closing ceremonies on Saturday, July 7. YPC is the first North American choir to win the title in the competition's more than 30-year history.

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of professional theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, announces its 2018-19 grant recipients, including the 2018 Smith Prize for Political Theatre, six Producer Residencies, and five Collaboration Fund awards that will support partnerships between multiple Member Theaters, playwrights, and other theater makers in various projects.

Hill Country Community Theatre announces its 2012-19 season.  Featuring five productions, the season includes the musical comedy "Don't Hug Me, I'm Pregnant," a holiday comedy "Sorry! Wrong! Chimney!" the thriller/comedy "Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery," the comedy "Doublewide, Texas", and musical "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels".  This marks HCCT's 33rd year.

Mentored by Emmy Award-winning composer Richard Bellis and produced by ASCAP Film & TV executives Michael Todd and Jennifer Harmon, the comprehensive 4-week program in Los Angeles is known in Hollywood circles for grooming some of the film and TV industry's top composers, connecting them with agents, music supervisors, attorneys and A-list Hollywood studio executives. The 12 composer participants for this year's program were revealed today.

San Diego Repertory Theatre and Amigos del REP announced today the lineup for The Second Annual Latinx New Play Festival at the Lyceum Space Theatre, August 3-5, 2018.  Amigos del REP is a theatre advocacy council of community members and artists who promote Hispanic/Latino/Chicano theatre at San Diego REP.  The Latinx New Play Festival is a celebration of engaging, dynamic and enlightening new plays by Latinx playwrights from across the United States.  Submissions were accepted from Latinx playwrights representing an array of genres, styles and experiences highlighted by both emerging and veteran playwrights.

This July, Portland Center Stage at The Armory Celebrates the 20th Anniversary of JAW: A Playwrights Festival. The two week festival - during which artists from across the country collaborate to workshop and develop exciting new scripts - culminates in the Big Weekend of free staged readings, along with community classes, dance, music, and other events at The Armory.

The American Shakespeare Center (ASC) today announced that the company has chosen Ethan McSweeny, an internationally acclaimed theatre artistwith more than 80 productions to his credit, as its new Artistic Director.

The Philadelphia Young Pianists' Academy (PYPA) will be celebrating its sixth year as an international event from August 5 through August 12, 2018. They are inaugurating a new home for the experience at the prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts located at 1920 Spruce St in Philadelphia. There will be eight days of concerts by world-class pianists, master classes by some of the most highly respected pianists and professors and student concerts. Founder Ching-Yun Hu is pleased to expand the program this year with more concerts and a speaker series.

POV recently acquired the U.S. broadcast rights for306 Hollywood by Elan and Jonathan Bogarín.  The film will join POV's early 2019 schedule with AmDoc/POV Co-production Minding the Gap by Bing Liu, which announced last week a Hulu Originals acquisition for an August 2018 theatrical and streaming release. These 2019 films build on POV's recent announcements regarding the acquisition of On Her Shoulders and The Silence of Others.

Totem Pole Playhouse, America's beloved summer theatre, located in Caledonia State Park between Gettysburg and Chambersburg, PA, will present the Tony Award-winning musical Ain't Misbehavin' beginning this Sunday, June 17th through July 1st. The show features the music of acclaimed American Jazz pianist, singer, and composer Thomas Wright "Fats" Waller and contains such classic songs as "Honeysuckle Rose," "The Joint is Jumpin'," "Keepin' Out of Mischief Now," "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter," and "I Can't Give You Anything But Love," plus 25 other toe-tapping songs of the 1920s and 30s. Aint' Misbehavin' won the 1978 Tony Award for Best Musical and the 1988 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, as well as a 1982 Emmy Award for Outstanding Musical or Variety Program. This is the first time this award-winning musical has ever been presented at Totem Pole Playhouse. Ain't Misbehavin' features a cast of five vocalists with a live jazz band on stage throughout the two-hour show.

Witting's Anne Page Hates Fun and Mary Elizabeth Hamilton's 16 Winters or the Bear's Tale are the first two winners of 'Shakespeare's New Contemporaries,' an international playwriting competition designed to create a modern canon of companion pieces for each of Shakespeare's 38 plays.
