In celebration of acclaimed photographer Andrew Eccles' 16 years capturing stunning images of the human form for Broadway Bares' advertising campaigns, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS invites lovers of the show and of fine art to a special gallery exhibition and online auction of one-of-a-kind prints of Eccles' work.

This summer, JAW: A Playwrights Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary by doing what it does best: selecting some of the most exciting new plays of our time and providing complete support to the playwrights to develop those scripts in whatever area is most beneficial to them. Two weeks of script workshopping will culminate in the JAW Big Weekend, July 27-29, where public staged readings of the scripts will be presented along with performances from local artists and classes. Plenty of champagne and birthday cake will also be enjoyed, to celebrate all that JAW has accomplished since its brave and ambitious beginnings in 1999.

An afternoon Island Celebration! The Theatre World Awards Board of Directors, Dale Badway, President, have announced, today, the 74th Annual Theatre World Awards Ceremony will take place at Circle in the Square. Theatre World Award Alum Victor Garber (Hello, Dolly!) will receive the 6th Annual John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement In The Theatre, celebrating his 46th year on the Broadway stage.

Continuing a long tradition of presenting world-class performances to The University of Texas at Austin and the Central Texas community, Texas Performing Arts unveils the 2018-19 Essential Series season. This is the 10th since the renovation of Bass Concert and changing our name to Texas Performing Arts.

The Music Center named 14 outstanding Southern California high school students as Grand Prize Finalists in the 30th annual The Music Center's Spotlight program (Spotlight), a free nationally recognized scholarship and arts training program for teens.  Two Grand Prize Finalists were named in each of seven categories, including acting, ballet, non-classical dance, classical voice, non-classical voice, classical instrumental and jazz instrumental.  All finalists will receive $5,000 scholarships and appear in a ticketed Grand Finale Performance, open to the public, at The Music Center's Walt Disney Concert Hall on June 5, 2018, at 7:00 p.m.  Spotlight Grand Prize Finalists were chosen from more than 1,400 Southern California students who participated in the year-long program.  The Music Center has awarded more than

KCON USA, the world's largest Korean culture convention and music festival, announced today the first artist to join the New York edition of the worldwide event series – Wanna One. KCON 2018 NY will serve as the New York stop of the boyband's world tour, which was just announced on Sunday. Hot off the tails of releasing their highly-anticipated new album, 0+1=1 (I Promise You) this month, Wanna One will be returning to the KCON USA stage for the second year in a row after performing in Los Angeles in 2017.

Trinity Repertory Company announced today that three area residents will be honored at its 2018 Pell Awards Gala on Monday, May 21, 2018 in Providence.  Pawtucket-based designer and artist Morris Nathanson will receive a Rhode Island Pell Award for Excellence in the Arts. Longtime Providence philanthropist and arts advocate Jane S. Nelson will receive the Charles Sullivan Award for Distinguished Service in the Arts. The Pell Award for Outstanding Leadership in the Arts will go to Jeannine Chartier in recognition of her work with VSA arts Rhode Island. Additional honorees will be announced at a later date.

American Composers Orchestra continues its commitment to the creation and development of new orchestral music with the announcement of sixteen emerging composers who will participate in its catalytic programs. Six emerging composers will participate in the 27th Annual Underwood New Music Readings on June 21-22, 2018 at a location to be announced. Ten emerging composers receive 2018 EarShot New Music Readings presented by Fort Wayne Philharmonic (February 7, 2018), Charlotte Symphony Orchestra (March 1, 2018), and Jacksonville Symphony (April 20, 2018). EarShot is a partnership between American Composers Orchestra, League of American Orchestras, American Composers Forum, and New Music USA.

Arden Theatre Company celebrates the 20th Anniversary Season of Arden Children's Theatre with the World-Premiere of SNOW WHITE, written and directed by Greg Banks on the Arden's Arcadia Stage at 40 N. 2nd Street in Philadelphia. George Street Playhouse, located at 103 College Farm Road in New Brunswick, today announced Jonathan Kite (TV's 2 Broke Girls) will play the titular role in Larry Shue's The Nerd, on stage April 24 - May 20, 2018. Kevin Cahoon, who has appeared in many Broadway productions, including The Wedding Singer and The Lion King, will direct the popular comedy, which closes out GSP's mainstage season.

A new play, Just My TYPE - The Musical, about the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Assessment, explores how the four pairs of personality traits affect one's loves and life. Four couples are chosen to illustrate what happens when opposites mate. The script is based on Type Talk (1988) and 16 Ways to Love Your Lover (1994) by Otto Krueger and Janet Thuesen.

The Centerpiece Gala will be the World Premiere of Drake Doremus' sci-fi romance Zoe starring Ewan McGregor, Lea Seydoux, Rashida Jones, and Theo James. The Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) launches its 97th season on September 20 at Roy Thomson Hall (for a 37th season). The opening concert, with Interim Artistic Director Sir Andrew Davis on the podium, highlights the Orchestra through the music of Berlioz-Symphonie fantastique and Fantasy on Shakespeare's The Tempest.

The American Shakespeare Center (ASC) closed submissions for the first round of the Shakespeare's New Contemporaries Project on February 15 at 11:59 pm PST. The company received 189 complete and eligible submissions from thirty-two US states and internationally from 10 countries. The Shakespeare's New Contemporaries Project is a twenty-year initiative to discover, develop, and produce plays that are inspired by and in conversation with Shakespeare's work.

The National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces the 2017-18 Annual Commission is awarded to Core Member InterAct Theatre Company (Philadelphia, PA) and playwright R. Eric Thomas for the new play Nightbird. The play will center on a Mid-Atlantic city reckoning with its relationship to slavery.

Manatee Players' production of Driving Miss Daisy will be produced at Manatee Performing Arts Center in Bradenton, Fla. for thirteen performances. This show is part of the Center's Action through Acting program and will support the mission of its affiliate partner, Palmetto Youth Center.

Friendship, faith and fatherhood. Jonathan Arkin, Alan Blumenfeld, Dor Gvirtsman and Sam Mandelstar in The Chosen, the award-winning stage adaptation by Aaron Posner and Chaim Potok of Potok's beloved novel. Simon Levy directs for aJanuary 20 opening at the Fountain Theatre, where performances continue through March 25. The Fountain celebrates the novel's 50th anniversary (last April) with the West Coast premiere of Posner's new, streamlined version.

Mosaic Theater Company of DCtakes its acclaimedVoices From a Changing Middle East Festival on tour this winter, bringing several of its seminal Festival productions (I SHALL NOT HATE, VIA DOLOROSA, and the recent film adaptation of WRESTLING JERUSALEM) to the University of Oklahoma, Grinnell College, and Eastern Mennonite University for presentations of each project, and culminating in a special evening at the University of Chicago's Logan Center for the Arts where excerpts from all three works will be shared in a single evening. The tour reflects different dimensions of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the efforts to achieve reckoning and reconciliation through live performance and discussion, in works performed in English, Arabic, and Hebrew (with translated surtitles).

Alexis Smith's unique art exhibit Private Lives and Public Affairs comes to Pepperdine University's Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art beginning Saturday, January 20 until Sunday, April 1. A special Meet the Artist reception will be held Sunday, January 21 from 4-6 p.m.
