The Dallas Opera is pleased to announce that applications for the expanded Dallas Opera Guild Vocal Competition, scheduled to take place on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. (the free Semi-Finals Round, open to the public) and Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. (Finals Round) are now being accepted.

New York City Ballet will open its 2017-18 Season at Lincoln Center today, September 19, and will continue with 21 weeks of performances, through Sunday, June 3, featuring 61 ballets by 15 different choreographers.

Nashville Shakespeare Festival (NSF) continues its tradition of Shakespeare in the Park with The Winter's Tale and Antony & Cleopatra, running from Today, August 10 through Sunday, September 17 at Centennial Park's band shell.

American Composers Orchestra (ACO) announces its complete 2017-2018 season, Dreamscapes, under the leadership of Artistic Director Derek Bermel, Music Director George Manahan, and President Edward Yim, featuring ten world, U.S., and New York premieres by a diverse set of composers. The 2017-2019 season will train, and present new works from, composers Matthew Browne, Scott Ordway, Frances Pollock, Pamela Stein Lynde, Liliya Ugay, and Amber Vistein and librettists Laura Barati, Kim Davies, and Sokunthary Svay. The primary focus of Composers & the Voice is to give emerging composers and librettists experience working collaboratively with singers on writing for the voice and contemporary opera stage.

The 19th annual JAW: A Playwrights Festival is Portland's chance to preview spanking new scripts while they're still in development, enjoy a host of Press Play performances and dig deeper with Community Artist Labs presented by JAW featured artists. These Labs are the centerpiece of the nonprofit Institute's year-round support for independent artists.

Chen Dance Center presents NEWSTEPS, its semi-annual emerging choreographer's series, May 11-13 at 7:30 PM.   Since 1994, its theater has supported and presented hundreds of young dancers and choreographers developing innovative new works through space and production grants.  At  Chen Dance Center, 70 Mulberry Street (corner of Mulberry and Bayard in NYC's Chinatown).
