The Flat Rock Playhouse and Studio 52 Family Series continues with the classic cartoon turned family musical, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.  Happiness is…this charming musical featuring the beloved Charles M. Schulz Peanuts gang. Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Sally, Schroeder…and yes Snoopy too!  A delight for the whole family.

The 1941 ARSENIC AND OLD LACE gets a dusting off from the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble providing a wonderfully expressive vehicle for the acting talents of Sheelagh Cullen and Jacque Lynn Colton as Abby and Martha Brewster, the seemingly harmless and most delightful murderers of their single unattached male boarders. Cullen and Colton totally charm while dithering on ever so casually describing their deadly deeds as calmly as sharing a recipe of elderberry pie.

The Flat Rock Playhouse has been awarded a grant of $30,000 by the Community Foundation of Henderson County.

For those who have never attended THE PAGEANT OF THE MASTERS live show or its sister event THE FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS in Laguna Beach, you are missing a wonderful treasure of not only art but theatrical spectacle during which historical works of arts are brought to life with real people stepping in to portray the characters in each piece of art, be it a painting, sculpture, or promotional advertisement for artistic spectacles taking place all over the world. The Flat Rock Playhouse 2017 season continues with the legendary music and lyrics of one of musical theater's greatest composers: Andrew Lloyd Webber. Featuring songs from Broadway sensations like Evita, Cats and The Phantom of the Opera, Music of the Night: The Songs of Andrew Lloyd Webber plays on the Mainstage August 25th - September 3rd.

On the heels of winning its second Ross Wetzsteon Award for Sustained Excellence at the 2017 OBIE Awards, Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) have just announced its 2017-18 season.

American Composers Orchestra (ACO) announces its complete 2017-2018 season, Dreamscapes, under the leadership of Artistic Director Derek Bermel, Music Director George Manahan, and President Edward Yim, featuring ten world, U.S., and New York premieres by a diverse set of composers. ACO continues its concerts at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall (December 8, 2017 and April 6, 2018) while expanding its presence in New York to include performances at Jazz at Lincoln Center (November 7, 2017) and as part of the 2018 PROTOTYPE Festival (January 12-14, 2018). ACO continues to take its commitment to fostering new work beyond the stage in its annual Underwood New Music Readings (June 21 and 22, 2018) for emerging composers, now in its 27th year, and through EarShot, the National Orchestra Composition Discovery Network, which brings the Readings experience to orchestras across the country.

Running August 3rd - 13th at the Playhouse Downtown on Main Street in Hendersonville, NC, Music on the Rock: Motown Summer Nights promises an evening that will make you want sing along and leave you dancing in the street!

Sarasota Opera announces an expansion of their "HD at the Movie House" series entitled "Classic Moves at the Opera House." Originally designed as a movie house and vaudeville theater, Sarasota Opera is embracing the history of the building by bringing many of the classic films that once played at the theater when they originally premiered.

Dallas Summer Musicals and Performing Arts Fort Worth have announced a co-presentation of the first U.S. national tour hit musical THE BODYGUARD, to play at the Music Hall at Fair Park July 18-30, 2017. This sensational production will then head over to Fort Worth, where it will play at Bass Performance Hall August 1-6, 2017.

???????Horton Foote's The Traveling Lady, directed by Austin Pendleton, opened on June 22 and was originally set to run through July 16, 2017, has been extended and will now run through July 30, 2017 at Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St.).

The Oyster Mill Playhouse will present the comedy/drama HOLLYWOOD ARMS, by Carrie Hamilton and Carol Burnett, July 7 through July 23. Berkshire Theatre Group announces the final production of its upcoming 2017 Summer Season will be Mark Medoff's Tony, Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk Award-winning play, Children of a Lesser God, which began performances on Thursday, June 22 at The Fitzpatrick Main Stage.
