Fred Johanson and Julian Capolei Join the Cast of Disney's ALADDIN

As it prepares to celebrate its second birthday in the West End, Disney's Aladdin announces today that fourteen new cast members will be joining the company. Matthew Croke will continue to star in the title role, having joined the company in June 2017, opposite original London cast members Jade Ewen (Jasmine) and Trevor Dion Nicholas (Genie). New cast members include Fred Johanson as Jafar and Julian Capolei as Omar. Original cast member Jermaine Woods will play Iago, having previously covered the role. (more...)

Director of NST, Samuel Hodges, directs Gemma Goggin (Miss Smith), Scarlet Billham (Tina), Tom Mccall (Barry), Jon Tarcy (Didier), Richard Dempsey (Brother Joshua), Cat Simmons (Sarah) and Felix Warren as Will and Aaron Gelkoff as Lee. Son of Rambow - The Musical is an adaptation of the hit cult film featuring an original 80s pop soundtrack by two of the UK's most successful pop writers Miranda Cooper and Nick Coler with the book by Richard Marsh. His mission for the 19-piece Big Band slated to issue its debut album, “Get It How You Live” on the Ropeadope label on July 13, is to breathe new life into “traditional” jazz Big Bands by expanding its possibilities in the modern era. THE GREAT AMERICAN READ, hosted by television personality and journalist Meredith Vieira, launches with a two-hour episode today, May 22, 2018, at 8 p.m. on PBS stations and will introduce viewers to the full list of America's 100 favorite novels selected through a demographically representative national survey conducted by YouGov. The series will also feature interviews with celebrities, authors, superfans and everyday Americans discussing the way particular books have influenced them and their significance in American popular culture. Then, after a multi-platform initiative throughout the summer, which will include live public events, social media components and national reading clubs, the series will resume in the fall with several themed episodes, including an exciting finale, culminating in the first-ever national vote to choose 'America's Best-Loved Novel.' Milwaukee Rep's PTI Ensemble Performs LOST GIRL

Milwaukee Repertory Theater presents the World Premiere production of Lost Girl by Kimberly Belflower performed by the 2017/18 Professional Training Institute (PTI) ensemble this July 19-22, 2018 in the Stiemke Studio.  PTI is an advanced actor-training program for students in 8th-12th grade who may have an interest in pursuing a career as a professional theater artist.   The 2017/18 PTI ensemble features sixteen students hailing from fourteen different high schools who received free training from some of the top theater professionals in the world, culminating in this capstone performance  of Lost Girl where they will be employed as paid, professional actors. The second production in the inaugural season at NST City, A Streetcar Named Desire opens at Nuffield Southampton Theatres on 28 March with previews from 23 March, running until 31 March. APTP's OFRENDA Begins Performances April 25

The award-winning Albany Park Theater Project (APTP) youth theater ensemble celebrates its 21st birthday with the world premiere of 'Ofrenda,' a collection of real-life stories about creating home in turbulent times. 'Ofrenda' is performed by a cast of 33 teens in the company's home theater in one of the most diverse immigrant neighborhoods in the United States. The Shakespeare Theatre Of New Jersey to Present TARTUFFE

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey begins its 56th season with its first Main Stage production, Tartuffe. Artistic Director Bonnie J. Monte will direct this masterful French comedy that hasn't been seen on STNJ's stage since 2001. Renowned translator Richard Wilbur brings Moliere's witty words to brilliant life for English-speaking audiences. Veteran company member Brent Harris will play the title role and will be joined by STNJ favorites Patrick Toon and Victoria Mack, as well as two-time Tony Award nominee, Vivian Reed. Albany Park Theater Project Teens Perform World Premiere OFRENDA

The award-winning Albany Park Theater Project (APTP) youth theater ensemble celebrates its 21st birthday with the world premiere of "Ofrenda," a collection of real-life stories about creating home in turbulent times. "Ofrenda" is performed by a cast of 33 teens in the company's home theater in one of the most diverse immigrant neighborhoods in the United States. Preview performances begin April 25 at the Laura Wiley Theater, 5100 N. Ridgeway Ave., with press performances on Monday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. and Wednesday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale March 21 for performances through June 2. (more...)
