A pressing concern in our nation is internet bullying and the need for internet safety. 77% of the targets for online predators are ages 14 or older. Another 22% are users ages 10 to 13 (from Your Internet Safety Survey). RCT: Professional Theatre for Schools & Families aims to shed light on this issue and offer strategies for safety through their upcoming production of THE FAKES. This production is part of the RCT4TEENS series, with public performances of THE FAKES being held on February 27 and 28, 2020. Performances will be held at the Jefferson Center Black Box Theatre/Fostek Hall (541 Luck Avenue SW).

The Muny announced today the choreographers and music directors for its Muny Kids and Teens 2020 season. The Muny's flagship education programs, The Muny Kids and Teens are two of nine offerings under The Crawford Taylor Education Initiative. Muny Director of Education, Tali Allen, and Artistic Associate, Michael Baxter, will serve as Artistic Directors for the groups. The Colony Theatre in Burbank has announced The Music of Brian Gallagher, an evening featuring Broadway stars singing Gallagher's songs, on Saturday, October 19, at 8pm. Set to appear are Megan Hilty, Carly Hughes, Matt Cusson, and Carrie Manolakos, with more to be announced. At this event, music from Gallagher's concept album Brownstone will be heard live on the West Coast for the first time.

3-D Theatricals concludes its 10th Anniversary season with the Tony Award®-winning musical comedy, SHREK The Musical, directed and choreographed by David F.M. Vaughn. SHREK The Musical, featuring music by Tony Award-winner Jeanine Tesori, and book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize-winner David Lindsay-Abaire, will play August 9-25, 2019 at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (18000 Park Plaza Drive, Cerritos, CA). Opening night is Saturday, August 10.

The Charleston Light Opera Guild (CLOG) is currently hard at work preparing for their upcoming production of Shrek the Musical, based on the wildly popular Shrek film series. The play a?' which opened in 2008 on Broadway and features a book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori - follows essentially the same story as the first Shrek movie, albeit with the incorporation of multiple musical numbers and a few expanded set pieces.

This lavish and fun multi-million dollar musical will open at the Sydney Lyric Theatre, The Star in early January 2020, followed by seasons at Her Majesty's Theatre, Melbourne and the Lyric Theatre, Brisbane.
