This summer, Feinstein's at the Nikko will present concert productions of two classic Jerry Herman musicals -- Hello, Dolly! and Mame -- as part of their new "Musicals in Concert" series.

Meg Fofonoff and Stacey Stephens, Producing Artistic Directors of Fiddlehead Theatre Company, announced today that the Boston-based professional theater company will stage two full-scale musical productions at the Citi Performing Arts Center Shubert Theatre for their 23rd Anniversary season, in partnership with the Citi Performing Arts Center and Josiah A. ?Due to popular demand, A Red Orchid Theatre has extended its critically-acclaimed production of Tennessee Williams' The Mutilated, directed by Ensemble Member Dado. The Mutilated will now run through March 13, 2016. The Mutilated features Ensemble Members Lance Baker, Jennifer Engstrom, Mierka Girten, Steve Haggard, Shade Murray, Doug Vickers and Natalie West with Ciera Dawn, Jennifer Glasse, Roy Gonzalez, Mario Hernandez, Morgan Maher, Lauren Vogel and Dominque Worsley. One of Broadway's most beloved musicals looked like a disaster in out-of-town previews.

As BroadwayWorld reported this morning, Bette Midler will indeed return to Broadway in one of the most cherished shows in musical theater history when she takes on the role of Dolly Gallagher Levi in Michael Stewart's (book) and Jerry Herman's (music and lyrics) masterpiece, Hello, Dolly!. Directed by four-time Tony Award® winner Jerry Zaks, Hello, Dolly! will begin performances on Broadway on March 13, 2017, with an official opening night of April 20, 2017. Rehearsals begin one year from today. This new production of Hello, Dolly!, the first new production of this classic musical to appear on Broadway since it opened more than fifty years ago, will have at its helm Jerry Zaks as its director, and will feature choreography by Tony Award-winner Warren Carlyle. The new Dolly! will pay tribute to the original work of legendary director/choreographer Gower Champion, which has been hailed both then and now as one of the greatest stagings in musical theater history.  Acclaimed for its 'magic', 'simplicity', and 'compassion', Carnival blends music, comedy, and pathos into what has been referred to as 'America's Magical Musical'.  Carnival will open at Margate's Stage Door Theatre on January 22nd and run through February 28th.

President Barack Obama named this year's honoreees last week, and the awards will be presented at the White House today, November 24th.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center and the Metropolitan Opera announced that they are co-presenting a free outdoor screening of Jerome Robbins & Robert Wise's Academy Award-winning film West Side Story on the Lincoln Center Plaza in front of the opera house tonight, August 28 at 7:45pm.

George Chakiris, who won an Oscar for his breakout role of 'Bernardo' in Jerome Robbins's WEST SIDE STORY, will be our Guest of Honor at the Free Summer Shakespeare screening of the film on Monday, August 24.
