A Tribute to Girl Groups of the 50s, 60s, & 70s on November 14, 2019. Presented as part of Apollo Education's 'Apollo Live Wire' discussion series, led by Senior Director of Education Shirley Taylor, the evening featured a lively panel discussion with founding members of groundbreaking girl groups, including Martha Reeves (Martha Reeves & the Vandellas), Sarah Dash (Patti LaBelle & the Bluebelles), and Joshie Jo Armstead (The Ikettes).

All through lockdown, many French musical theater performers have been lucky enough to be able to go on developing their craft, tapping their troubles away with master teacher Victor Cuno, who in turn took the opportunity to use their talents to create a new show, simply called Victor Cuno's Broadway Cabaret, showcasing many triple threats who took advantage of their time off from theater commitments to rehearse at Swing Tap Studio near Bastille in Paris. Beginning with a showstopping new version of 'Anything Goes', musical arrangement and choreography by Cuno himself. A delightful special event for the Maison de la Radio's '42ème rue fait son show' was performed last December, and Cuno decided to expand this success into a full show.

During the opening night performance of her fun return engagement at Segerstrom Center for the Arts' Cabaret Series at the Samueli Theatre, Tony Award winner Lillias White felt strongly about putting on a a?oehappy show,a?? as a way to combat all the sadness and fear that have overtaken our world. Sadler's Sampled is Sadler's Wells' annual parade of varied dance offerings - although this year proved somewhat of a disappointment from previous iterations. The selected work felt unbalanced in favour of contemporary performances, and for this traditionalist, the lack of any classical work weighed heavy.
