Casting has been announced for the Royal Shakespeare Company's forthcoming production of Charlie Josephine's new play, Cowbois. 

General Director and CEO Deborah Sandler Kemper has announced the commission of two operas created to be presented in community spaces where audiences of all ages gather. The Haberdasher Prince by the twin-sister creative team of composer Rosabella Gregory and librettist Dina Gregory will premiere in April 2024. Maya and the Magic Ring by composer Lori Laitman and librettist Dana Gioia will premiere in spring 2025.

The festival officially kicked off at Joe's Pub on May 5th and began performances on Wednesday, June 7th when two-time Tony Award winner Savion Glover and Tony Award and Grammy Award Nominee Reg E. Gaines came together for a conversation about theater and their Tony Winning Bring in da Noise Bring in da Funk musical.

Charter Oak Cultural Center, housed in one of Connecticut's architectural jewels--the first synagogue built in Connecticut-- is about to take a historic step.  For over 75 years, the grand arched windows in the sanctuary, once filled with colorful stained glass, were fitted with white-frosted glass panels, a remnant of the neglect the building experienced before it came under the control of the Hartford Redevelopment Agency in the 1970s.

Cultural Solidarity Fund (CSF), a coalition of cultural institutions administered by the IndieSpace/Indie Theater Fund with leadership from LEIMAY was organized during the pandemic to provide both solidarity and support to the arts community at a time when its very survival was in question.

Jesse L. Martin is known for his Tony-winning role as Tom Collins on Broadway in Rent. He reprised his role in the 2005 feature film adaptation. Martin also starred on NBC's Law & Order for nine seasons. He just completed his eight-year run on The Flash, where he played detective Joe West, and recently wrapped filming NBC’s pilot Irrational.

Britney Spears will make her highly-anticipated reutrn to music with a new rendition of 'Tiny Dancer' with Elton John. The new single will be released 'in the coming days' and is officially titled 'Hold Me Closer.' The artwork for the upcoming single features two emojis, a rose for Spears and a rocket ship for John.

Foals share the new song ‘Crest of the Wave’ ahead of this Friday’s release of their 7th studio album, Life Is Yours. The band – Yannis Philippakis, Jack Bevan and Jimmy Smith – have released a succession of euphoric singles so far, including “Wake Me Up” to “2001.” The band yesterday announced their North American tour.

Jamaica Moon Productions presents three short plays by two great 20th Century American playwrights. All three plays are love stories, and one is a comedy.
