HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME, written by Todd Kreidler and directed by Kenny Leon, is now in previews and will open on Thursday, June 19. Holler If Ya Hear Me, the world inside Tupac Shakur's music and lyrics, blazes to life in a non-biographical story about friendship, family, revenge, change and hope. Inner city lives struggle for peace against the daily challenges they face in this entertaining and original musical. Through the poetry of one of the 20th century's most influential and culturally prominent voices, we are given a window into realities of the streets still relevant today.

Broadway and Hip-Hop will merge with the arrival of the new musical HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME, and in celebration, The National Museum of Hip-Hop (NMoH) will curate a Hip-Hop exhibition at the Palace Theater (1564 Broadway at 47th Street), home of HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME. The exhibition will invite patrons to learn about the history of Hip-Hop through one-of-a-kind artifacts and memorabilia, interact with "Dreams Walls" by inscribing it with their dreams, and view a dynamic mural featuring the 4 Elements of Hip-Hop: DJing, Emceeing. B-Boying and Graffiti. HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME ticketholders can view the exhibition at no additional cost one hour prior to each performance. The exhibition begins on Monday, June 2 at 7pm, one hour before the musical's first preview performance at 8pm, and will continue throughout the run of the production.

Marin Theatre Company, in association with Lorraine Hansberry Theatre, will stage August Wilson's Fences, the 1950s entry into his Century Cycle (also known as his Pittsburgh Cycle) - a decade-by-decade exploration of the black experience in 20th century America. Chicago's most established resident theater presents a 90th anniversary "season to celebrate," a line-up of new and contemporary works on its two stages-the 856-seat Albert Theatre and 400-seat flexible Owen Theatre. Today, Artistic Director Robert Falls and Executive Director Roche Schulfer announced six plays (of eight)-half of which were developed by commission and/or workshop in the Goodman's new play development programs-that comprise the 2014/2015 Season, plus co-productions with Chicago's off-Loop theaters.
