Mirvish Productions is celebrating fifty years of producing in Toronto with their largest and most ambitious subscription seasons to date, starting with the return of the smash-hit LES MISERABLES with hometown boy Ramin Karimloo in the lead role of Jean Valjean. Toronto will also see the World Premiere of ALADDIN, the Tony Award Winning musical ONCE, the World Premiere of Sergio Trujillo's ARRABAL, the North American Premiere of HEARTBEAT OF HOME, critical favourite METAMORPHOSIS and the North American Premiere of THE LAST CONFESSION. They have also announced four exciting bonus shows and their sophomore Off-Mirvish season. The Chicago City Limits National Touring Company arrives at The Barns at Wolf Trap to perform their highly lauded improvisational parodies. As New York City's longest running comedic act, which in the past has hosted comedians such as Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Stewart, and Robin Williams among others, the actors of Chicago City Limits recount today's hard news through a series of hilariously relevant satirical sketches. In 2008 and 2009 the troupe was bestowed the MAC Award for Best Comedy/Improv Group by The Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs. The Music Center inaugurates FLASHFEST with an event free to the public at Grand Park on Sunday, November 4 from 1 pm to 5 pm. FLASHFEST is a new pop-up arts happening that explores all art forms in myriad ways with appeal to all ages and interests. Each event will turn on a particular theme, which will be up for a short time and then disappear until the next FLASHFEST. The first event at Grand Park, "High Roads + Railroads," features roots music from Irish and African American traditions.

CeltFest Vancouver Island has taken place in numerous Island communities over the past 11 years. This year marks CeltFest's 12th anniversary and the festival's first time in Greater Victoria. From today, July 14 to July 20, 2012, Celtic performing artists from around the world will present a series of concerts, offer public workshops and participate in ceilidhs (Celtic 'jam sessions').
