Suzanna Geraghty in association with the The Drilling Company Theater presents the U.S. premiere of her award-winning comedy Auditions, Zoe's Auditions Part 2, running from tonight, September 5th thru 22nd as part of the fifth annual 1ST Irish Festival, a celebration of the best of Irish Theatre across NYC.

Auditions, Zoe's Auditions, Part 2 follows the auditioning adventures of Zoe, a loveable aspiring actress who dreams of landing an acting job. Her over the hill agent, sends her on an odd assortment of auditions ranging from Hamlet to Riverdance to being a shot out of a cannon for a touring circus. Wildly enthusiastic and eager to please, Zoe is prone to series of mishaps and misadventures that lead casting directors to shout "NEXT!" Not to mention that her monologues become "triple-logues", and in her version of The Three Sisters the sisters catch the train for Moscow. Just as she is ready to give up Zoe falls asleep at her "ASM" job on a production of "A Christmas Carol" and is visited by three audacious ghosts with startling answers for her.

Geraghty's one act Auditions, Zoe's Auditions was selected from 77 shows and 11 countries to receive the Audience Award at United Solo Festival, 2011. Motivated by this success and a request from Mill Theatre in Dublin to perform a full length version of the play that ran at their theatre in July, Ms. Geraghty further developed the show into a "Part 2" version and added her loveable Zoe character auditioning for a zany montage of musicals that include Chicago, Spiderman, Sister Act and Stomp. Inspired by her training at the Jacques Lecoq School and the plays of Samuel Beckett, Auditions, Zoe's Auditions, Part 2 combines elements of farce, physical comedy and audience participation. Ms. Geraghty, who has performed with New Dramatists, La Mama ETC, Irish Rep (in their Yeats Festival) and Lyric Stage of Boston, was a company member of New Jersey Repertory and has also worked in the British Isles in BBC & RTE radio plays. She toured her native Ireland playing Goneril in King Lear and was featured as Sarah on the popular Irish soap Glenroe.

Andy Crook is directorial consultant and movement coach for the show. A student of Jacque Le Coq and former head of the Physical Acting Department at Trinity College Dublin for 10 years, he has worked extensively throughout Europe as a performer, most notably with director Phillip Zarilli. The creative team also includes set design by Maree Kearn and lighting design by Sara-Jane Shiels. Both are recipients of design awards from the Irish Times. Sound design is by Alexis Nealon, freelance sound designer for The Abbey Theatre in Dublin.
