It was just announced by Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy that Jackie Sibblies Drury's Fairview has officially won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Petula Clark and Joseph Millson will join the Company to play the Bird Woman and George Banks in the new production of Mary Poppins, which returns to its original West End home at the Prince Edward Theatre from 23 October 2019. They join the previously announced Zizi Strallen in the title role and Charlie Stemp as Bert.

In 10th Grade, I was in the chorus of a production of Oklahoma! in the auditorium of my synagogue and it was the best theatrical experience I've ever had. I remember getting home from the closing night cast party and crying myself to sleep. I could cry now putting on the movie or listening to 'The Farmer and the Cowman,' or maybe most of all, if I sing a little bit of the introduction to the title song.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the American premiere of Life After, a rapturously beautiful and stirring new musical with book, music, and lyrics by Britta Johnson. The Globe's own Barry Edelstein directs, with choreography by Ann Yee. Life After will run March 22 - April 28, 2019 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run March 22-28.

KYLE RIABKO will return to Joe's Pub at The Public on Saturday, April 13 at 7:00 PM in a solo concert bringing his groundbreaking interpretations of both Burt Bacharach and Richard Rodgers, together for the first time with selections from the Broadway shows he starred in - Spring Awakening andHair - in addition to his original music.

Central Works 2019 Season begins February 16 and runs through November 24, 2019 featuring the world premieres of 4 new plays. Wonderland, a Kafka-esque comedy by Gary Graves, launches Central Works new season opening on Saturday Feb 16, 7pm and runs through March 17 (Previews Feb 14 & 15 at 8pm).  In Wonderland something sinister is going on in the White House. Joseph Kaye is dumbfounded. Without having done anything to deserve it, he's been arrested and transported to a place that looks a lot like the White House. He doesn't know why. Someone must have recommended him. But he's just a bank teller at National Savings and Trust. Why him? No one will tell him anything. So he waits anxiously in an empty room off … the West Wing? There's a woman named Alice. And someone called “The Rabbit.” There's a “Mad Hatter” and a “Red Queen,” too. Is something ghastly going on in the White House? Joseph just wants to do his civic duty. But what exactly is that when you're down the rabbit hole, and through the looking glass? Directed by Jan Zvaifler Wonderland features a cast that includes Martha Brigham*, John Patrick Moore*, Kimberly Ridgeway and Clive Worsley (*member AEA). The production has costume design by Tammy Berlin, lighting design by Gary Graves, prop design by Debbie Shelley and sound design Gregory Scharpen, with stage management by Carolina Stevens.

The Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) 33rd MAC Awards will be held tomorrow night at Sony Hall in New York City. 

Theatre Communications Group has announced that its 2019 Gala will be directed by Tony Award-winner Michael Mayer and feature performances from Oklahoma!'s Ali Stroker, Hadestown's Patrick Page and Eva Noblezada, and Angels in America's Beth Malone.

Cyrus Meher-Homji, General Manager, Classics and Jazz, Universal Music Australia is awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to the performing arts, particularly through music. The Order of Australia is the pre-eminent means by which Australia recognises the outstanding and meritorious service of its citizens and announced today as part of the Australia Day 2019 Honours List. The award is approved by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, representative of the Australian monarch, Queen Elizabeth II.

 On Wednesday, March 20, 2019, American Composers Orchestra (ACO) celebrates four individuals - true forces of nature - who have effected change in the American musical landscape at its annual Gala: Jon Deak, Founder & Artistic Director of New York Philharmonic's Very Young Composers; violinist Jennifer Koh; composer and conductor Tania Leon; and Frederick Wertheim, ACO Board Chairman. 

Nicolas Talar for Enzo Products Ltd and Adam Blanshay Productions have announced the full casting for Notre Dame de Paris. Twenty years after its Parisian debut, and after receiving international acclaim in 23 countries worldwide, the French musical is set to be performed at London Coliseum. The original French production in London will be performed with English surtitles and a live orchestra from Wednesday 23 Sunday 27 January 2019, with a national press night on Wednesday 23 January 2019 at 7pm. The London run will culminate with the 5,000th performance of the worldwide hit show.

Today, after an iconic 20+ years of music, Columbia Records Grammy-winning multi-platinum selling band Train officially releases their highly anticipated Greatest Hits album and simultaneously announces a legendary summer tour with co-headliners and Grammy-nominated rockers, the Goo Goo Dolls. The amphitheater tour will feature special guest Allen Stoneand hit over 39 stops across North America. The tour will stop at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on Saturday, July 27th, located at the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock festival in Bethel, NY. Guanqun Yu, Aleksandra Kurzak, and Susanna Phillips sing the role of Micaëla, and Kyle Ketelsen, Alexander Vinogradov, and Michael Todd Simpson portray the toreador Escamillo. Conductor Omer Meir Wellber makes his Met debut leading the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in interpreting Bizet's famous score; winter performances are conducted by Louis Langrée.

Three Tales by Steve Reich, with visuals by Beryl Korot, will open the Long Beach Opera's 40th Anniversary Season, for two performances Saturday, November 3 at 6pm and Sunday, November 4 at 2:30pm at the Ernest Borgnine Theater, Scottish Rite Event Center, in Long Beach, CA.  The production is sung in English, and is conducted by Andreas Mitisek. Three Tales will serve as the centerpiece to Long Beach Opera's 40th anniversary Gala, which will take place following the performance on November 3rd.      

With Spamilton: An American Parody currently running at the theatre, the Menier Chocolate Factory today announces full casting for their major revival of Hugh Whitemore's Pack of Lies. Hannah Chissick directs Jasper Britton as (Stewart), Sia Dauda (Sally), Alasdair Harvey (Peter Kroger), Chris Larkin (Bob Jackson), Macy Nyman (Julie Jackson), Tracy-Ann Oberman (Helen Kroger), Natalie Walter (Thelma) and Finty Williams (Barbara Jackson). The production opens on 1 October, with previews from 20 September, and runs until 17 November.

The Public Theater announced complete casting today for the New York premiere of WILD GOOSE DREAMS, written by Hansol Jung and directed by Tony Award nominee Leigh Silverman.

Prolific actor Reno Roop passed away Friday morning August 31 at his home in New York. He was 80. The cause of death was Parkinson's disease and Lewy body dementia.
