The Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival, the annual festival that honors legendary novelist Philip K. Dick through the dynamic power of science fiction film, is returning for its seventh outing with a full schedule of events. For the first time since its inception, the festival will hold a bi-coastal gathering presenting a lineup of films, premieres and panels for audiences in New York City, Los Angeles and Santa Ana, CA. The ambitious endeavor will provide a platform for independent filmmakers who tackle a variety of themes that empower the narratives of Philip K. Dick, whose work continues to serve as a profound mark on the literary and entertainment worlds.

Galactic are thrilled to share the blistering feminist anthem “Touch Get Cut (feat. Erica Falls)”, from their forthcoming album Already Ready Already due out February 8th, 2019 on Galactic's own Tchoup-Zilla Records through Thirty Tigers. “Touch, touch get cut / Back off me daddy leave the girl alone / Vixen sistas rolling in my crew / Rusty switch pointed dead at you” sings Falls as a warning to any “drunken fools” shooting “slick lines” and working on “borrowed time”.  The new single follows the release of “Going Straight Crazy (feat. Princess Shaw)” described by Relix as sounding like 'an homage to Sharon Jones and Daptone Records,' and the previously released “Clap Your Hands feat. Miss Charm Taylor”, which The New York Times lauded as “a euphoric three-minute New Orleans funk romp from one of the city's long-running bands.”

La Jolla Playhouse Rounds Out Season with Rajiv Joseph's New Musical FLY and Premiere of THE COAST STARLIGHT

La Jolla Playhouse announces the final two productions for its 2019/2020 season, including the world premiere of the Playhouse-commissioned The Coast Starlight, by Keith Bunin (Playhouse's Without Walls production of Sam Bendrix at the Bon Soir), directed by Tyne Rafaeli (Off-Broadway's Usual Girls). Developed during the Playhouse's 2018 DNA New Work Series, The Coast Starlight will run August 20 - September 15 in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre.

There's enough excitement in Atlanta this month to fill a fleet of pumpkin-carriages as Alliance Theatre mounts the highly-anticipated regional premiere of Ever After, a musical adaptation of the popular 1998 film of the same name which made its premiere at Paper Mill Playhouse in 2015. Ever After, loosely based on the Cinderella fairy tale, tells the story of Danielle de Barbarac, the Cinderella-esque young daughter of a 16th-century landowner who's forced into slavery by her stepmother after the unexpected death of her father. When a chance encounter with a prince stirs up considerable excitement for the young servant girl, Danielle finds that she might have the strength to take on her stepmother…and the world. Broadway diva Sierra Boggess, most known for her acclaimed turns as Ariel in The Little Mermaid and Christine Daae in Phantom of the Opera, will take on the role of the vibrant Danielle. BroadwayWorld caught up with Boggess to talk about the show.

Today Galactic release “Going Straight Crazy feat. Princess Shaw”, the newest single from their forthcoming album Already Ready Already due out February 8th, 2019 on Galactic's own Tchoup-Zilla Records through Thirty Tigers. The retro R&B feel of “Going Straight Crazy...” follows lead single “Clap Your Hands feat. Miss Charm Taylor”, which The New York Times lauded as “a euphoric three-minute New Orleans funk romp from one of the city's long-running bands.” Galactic already have massive plans for 2019 beyond the release of their new album. Aside from the national “Already Ready Already” tour kicking off in Feberuary, the band will embark upon Jam Cruise 17 next week, and have just announced a 3-night residency at the legendary Tipitina's night club during Mardi Gras, a venue the band recently purchased.
