Theatre producer PW Productions are developing a new stage production of The Invisible Man, created by the Bafta Award-winning Derren Brown and written by the award-winning Barney Norris. The plan is to premiere the new production in the Autumn of 2022 with theatre and booking details to be announced soon.

From Wednesday, July 24 through Tuesday, August 6, BAM presents We Can't Even: Millennials on Film, a 14-day, 27-feature, three-short series that takes a prismatic approach to the experiences of a much-maligned and frequently misunderstood generation, featuring films by Barry Jenkins, Celine Sciamma, Gus Van Sant, Kenneth Lonergan, Xavier Dolan, Greta Gerwig, Sofia Coppola, the Safdie brothers, and others.   

The French Institute Alliance Fran aise (FIAF), New York's premier French cultural and language center, today announced the 2019 Crossing the Line Festival, featuring 11 performances and a gallery exhibition from a geographically, generationally, and artistically diverse group of artists whose work transcends genres and boundaries. All performances are world, US, or New York premieres; they are united by their convention-breaking fearlessness as they confront topics from social injustice to personal demons. Many of the performances pay homage to legendary artists of our time and previous eras, while the theme of migration and its transformational effects on identity informs several others. Celebrating its 37th anniversary, Outfest - the Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization promoting equality by creating, sharing, and protecting LGBTQ stories on the screen - today announced the complete programming lineup for the 2019 Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival, presented by HBO. The nation's leading LGBTQ festival will be held July 18-28, 2019.

Critically lauded Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Eleni Mandell has confirmed more tour dates in support of her 11th studio album, Wake Up Again, out June 7 on Yep Roc Records. Kicking off with an album release show June 9, at Dynasty Typewriter in Los Angeles, the tour includes stops in Philadelphia, New York City, and a debut appearance at JazzFest in Montreal. Garry Marshall Theatre presents Deidrie Henry in the Broadway play Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill by Lanie Robertson for 15 performances May 15 to June 2, 2019 (press opening is Friday, May 17). The director is Gregg T. Daniel and playing Jimmy Powers is musical director Abdul Hamid Royal. Daniel most recently directed The Mountaintop for Garry Marshall Theatre.

The Historic Ali Cultural Arts in Pompano Beach presents Double Exposure, an expression of A. J. Brown's double life as both a visual artist and vocalist. The exhibit, free and open to the public, will be on view during regular business hours from April 25 through June 14, 2019. Garry Marshall Theatre presents the Broadway play Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill by Lanie Robertson for 15 performances May 15 to June 2, 2019 (press opening is Friday, May 17).  The time is 1959, a seedy bar in Philadelphia. The audience is about to witness one of Billie Holiday's last performances, given four months before her death. More than a dozen musical numbers - including "What a Moonlight Can Do," "Crazy He Calls Me," "Easy Living," "Strange Fruit," "Taint Nobody's Biz-ness If I Do," and "God Bless the Child" -- are interlaced with salty, often humorous, reminiscences to project a riveting portrait of the lady and her music.

Today, the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival announced their public installation program for the 23rd edition of the city-wide event spanning the month of May 2019. Renowned American artist Carrie Mae Weems will create three separate site-specific installations at outdoor venues downtown, representing the first time she has shown her work at this scale in Canada. These installations are presented in conjunction with exhibitions at the CONTACT Gallery and the Art Museum at the University of Toronto.
