The City of Cleveland Heights announces the regional premiere of ROCK OF AGES will be produced in the Alma Theater June 8-25 as part of Cain Park?s 2017 season. Newly appointed Cain Park Theater Artistic Director Joanna May Hunkins will direct, with music direction by Jordan Cooper. ROCK OF AGES is a Tony-nominated Broadway musical that features a book by Chris D'Arienzo, arrangements and orchestrations by Ethan Popp and the classic rock hits of bands including Bon Jovi, Styx, Journey, Whitesnake, Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, and others.

GOOD MORNING, THEATERATI! According to the non-clock thing hanging on the wall - what's it called? Oh, yeah, a calendar (yeah, like we'd ever allow a calendar to hang on any wall under our control - today is May 31, 2017! It's another day to allow yourself to live life dramatically and to gain ownership of your own schedule for the rest of the week so you can be certain to get to the theater. Yesterday, in our never-ending quest to enlist all of you to write our daily column for us, we posted TODAY'S QUERY on Facebook, asking our gentle readers to weigh in or whether or not 'dressing for the theater' is de rigueur or is it more of a 'come as you are' nature. Little did we know that such a question could engender such passionate responses and we daresay rather passionate defenses of the wear-whatever-the-hell-you-want school of thought.

Lookingglass Theatre Company concludes its 29th Season with its award-winning production of Moby Dick, adapted and directed by Ensemble Member David Catlin, from the book by Herman Melville, in association with The Actors Gymnasium. Moby Dick runs June 7 - September 3, 2017 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. The Mountain Play Association, the San Francisco Bay Area's most magical outdoor theater experience, will present the timeless classic Disney's Beauty and the Beast directed by Jay Manley for their 104th season. Based on the French fairy tale of the same name by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont, Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST tells the story of a monstrous prince and a young woman who fall in love. Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will take place every Sunday from May 21 to June 18, 2017.

The Menier Chocolate Factory today announces a brand new production of Sue Townsend's The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ - The Musical, which opens in Adrian's 50th birthday year. Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary's musical of Leicester's favourite teen has undergone a period of further development since its original production at Curve in 2015, and Luke Sheppard's new production will open at the Menier on 26 July at 3.30pm, with previews from 14 July, and runs until 9 September. Priority booking for the productions opens on Monday 22 May, with public booking on Tuesday 30 May.

Broadway writer Rick Elice (Jersey Boys, Peter and the Starcatcher, Addams Family) has written a new heartbreaking memoir about his late husband Roger Rees. Rees passed away in 2015 after losing a battle with brain cancer. Broadway dimmed the lights in his honor after his passing.
