American grunge legends, L7 have released their blistering 1st new album in 20 years on Joan Jett's Blackheart Records. Armed with lyrical daggers, rib-rattling chops, the highly anticipated new record has been positively received from fans and critics alike. It has had accolades from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Revolver, NPR, Kerrang!, Flaunt, Modern Drummer and many more. The band was also featured on NPR Weekend Edition on Sunday.  

Indie-rock pioneers Sebadoh will release their first new studio album in more than six years Act Surprised on May 24th via Dangerbird Records. Today, the band shared the video for their new song 'sunshine,' the fourth song to be released from their forthcoming album.

Isaac Mizrahi returns to Cafe Carlyle for three special performances titled Isaac & on June 10, June 17, and June 24. Isaac's previous three residencies in the room were sellouts, receiving widespread critical acclaim. He'll be joined by his band of jazz musicians, led by Ben Waltzer, for an evening of eclectic tunes and charming storytelling. Each night a well-known friend will join him on stage for a few songs and banter. To celebrate the release of beloved songwriter, guitarist and singer JJ Cale's Stay Around, Because Music will release an exclusive 7' vinyl for Record Store Day on April 13. The B-side features “Worrying Off Your Mind,” a bonus track from 2009's Roll On.

'Full Circle' is the forthcoming new album from J Majik. Officially announced a few weeks before it's release on 1 May, the 10-track album has been something of a best-kept secret, with only a handful of producers and DJs with their hands on any 12” or files.

Ars Lyrica's 2018/19 season finale travels from Brandenburg to Esterhazy, with Bach's two famous Brandenburg concertos and a concerto by Franz Joseph Haydn. The second "Brandenburg" concerto offers the set's oddest combination of soloists-recorder, oboe, violin, and trumpet-while the fourth is a stealth concerto, ostensibly for violin and two recorders, though the violinist leaves everyone in the dust. Baroque violinist Ingrid Matthews joins harpsichordist and artistic director Matthew Dirst at center stage, along with Paul Leenhouts (recorder), Kathryn Montoya (Baroque oboe), and Nathaniel Mayfield (natural trumpet).

On a bitterly cold London evening, schoolteacher Kyra Hollis (Mahira Kakkar) receives an unexpected visit from her former lover, Tom Sergeant (Greg Wood), a successful and charismatic restaurateur. In what would have been the 50th year of Rory Gallagher's recording career, UMC are pleased to announce the release of 'BLUES' on Friday 31st May. From the vaults of the Gallagher estate's tape archive comes this collection of rare and unreleased recordings of Rory playing his favourite blues material. Ranging from never heard before tracks to special guest sessions with legendary blues artists (Muddy Waters / Albert King) and lost radio sessions, this album uncovers Rory's love of the blues throughout his solo career from 1971 right through to 1994. 

The Center for the Arts at George Mason University announced today the 2019/2020 season of Great Performances at Mason, its annual series featuring leading national and international artists in the disciplines of classical music, opera, jazz, ballet, modern dance, theater, and global music and dance. The Center also announced the return of the Family Series, offering its second season of affordable programming for young audiences.

Hub Theatre Company of Boston launches its highly anticipated seventh season with Helen Edmundson's captivating drama The Clearing, directed by Daniel Bourque, running Friday, April 5 - Saturday, April 20 at First Church Boston, 66 Marlborough Street in Boston's Back Bay. OPERA America, the national service organization for opera and the nation's leading champion for American opera, is pleased to announce the 2019 recipients of Discovery Grants from the Opera Grants for Female Composers program, which is made possible through the generosity of the Virginia B. From Friday, May 3 through Wednesday, May 22, BAM presents Black 90s: A Turning Point in American Cinema, a nearly three week-long program of films, both low-budget art films and classic blockbusters, from an era of explosive creativity and newfound studio support for black filmmakers.

ALICE IN CHAINS have released the first two episodes of “Black Antenna,” a dark sci-fi thriller set against the backdrop of the band's Grammy-nominated album, Rainier Fog (BMG). “Black Antenna” was directed by Adam Mason, written by Paul Sloan and Adam Mason and produced by Elizabeth Mason and Nick Vallelonga, who recently won two Oscars (“Best Original Screenplay”) and (“Best Picture”) for “Green Book” (Vallelonga also has a cameo in episode one of “Black Antenna,” “The One You Know.”)

In celebration of four decades of hits, country music traditionalist John Anderson has released 40 Years and Still Swingin'. The new two-disc album revisits the songs that speak straight to his creative artistry and commitment to the genre.  

Simon Bonney has released his song “Eyes of Blue” today via Brooklyn Vegan. The track appears on forthcoming compilation album Past, Present, Future, out May 3, 2019 on Mute.  Past, Present, Future includes songs from his last two albums Forever (1992) and Everyman (1994) as well as 6 new tracks, including the title track for an unreleased album Eyes of Blue. Joni Mitchell - one of the world's most-remarkable artists - turned 75 November 7, 2019. To celebrate this milestone, The Music Center, Los Angeles' premiere performing arts center, assembled an incredible group of singers and musicians at The Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion to perform Mitchell's songs at a pair of sold-out shows that garnered rave reviews by those in attendance. Hard rock legends KORN and ALICE IN CHAINS have announced an epic co-headline amphitheater tour across North America this summer. Underoath will join as special guest on all dates, with Ho99o9 and FEVER 333 opening on select dates. Produced by Live Nation, the 30-city outing will kick off July 18th in Del Valle, TX at Austin360 Amphitheatre and make stops in Dallas, Nashville, Toronto, Denver and more before wrapping September 4th in Mountain View, CA at Shoreline Amphitheatre.

The world's fastest growing independent record label, Golden Robot Records, continues it's upward trajectory into 2019. Golden Robot Records is pleased to welcome guitar legend John Sykes to their already impressive roster of artists. The McCallum Theatre presents the Oregon Ballet Theatre and "Rhapsody in Blue," with special guests Thomas H. Lauderdale and Hunter Noack, pianos, on Thursday, March 7, at 8:00pm. Oregon Ballet Theatre, OBT to its fans in the Pacific Northwest, is the largest professional ballet company in Oregon, attracting artists from around the globe with a reputation for excellence.
