Ron Hubbard Achievement Awards for Writers and Illustrators of the Future Contests in the genres of Science Fiction & Fantasy held at the Taglyan Cultural Complex in Hollywood, CA on Friday evening, April 5, 2019.  A capacity crowd of 400 people attended the Black-Tie GALA. Presented by Author Services, Inc. and Galaxy Press, the theme for the two-hour awards show was Retro Robotics.

The 2019 Sonoma International Film Festival (SIFF) is celebrating 22 years of film, food, wine, and spirits Wednesday, March 27 to Sunday, March 31, 2019. All films are shown at intimate venues within walking distance of Sonoma's historic plaza. The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts presents The Tetzlaff Trio performing Schumann's consummate Trio No. 1 in D minor, Op. 63, paired with Dvo k's remarkable masterpiece Trio No. 3 in F minor, Op. 65, on Friday, April 26, 2019, 7:30 pm, at The Wallis' Bram Goldsmith Theater. The trio, featuring siblings Christian Tetzlaff, violin, and Tanja Tetzlaff, cello, and Lars Vogt, piano, are touring North America for the first time in three years. They bring polish and passion to every performance, according to the New York Times. A free pre-concert Prelude at 6:30 pm, which includes a complimentary glass of wine provided by The Henry Wine Group, features Classical KUSC's Brian Lauritzen in conversation about the evening's program with the artists. This concert is made possible with generous support from Wendy and Ken Ruby.

New York Choral Society Partners With The Angel Band Project For Virtual Choir Performance

The New York Choral Society (NYCHORAL) will join forces with the Angel Band Project's One Voice Virtual Choir on Monday, November 19, 2018, to perform Ruth Moody's One Voice as part of the opening for the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. NYCHORAL members led by Associate Conductor Michael Ciavaglia will sing alongside sexual violence survivors as well as the Angel Band Project's virtual choir. The opening will take place in the United Nations Trusteeship Council Chambers (on 1st Avenue between E. 42nd and E. 43rd Streets) from 10 am to 12:30 pm, with the performance slotted for 11:05 am. 

John Mellencamp Announces Additional 2019 Tour Dates

JOHN MELLENCAMP announced today additional dates to the 2019 tour of “The John Mellencamp Show” which will feature the rock icon's classics plus some new material. Being hailed by critics and fans alike as one of music's most authentic and crowd pleasing concert performers, Mellencamp has added an additional 13 dates to his 2019 tour. The news follows his previously announced dates, which will kick off with a sold out show in his home state of Indiana on February 7, 2019 and continue through April 30, 2019 in Albuquerque, NM. New York Choral Society Commemorates Anniversary Of End Of WWI & Kristallnacht

Monday evening, November 12, 2018, 8 p.m., The New York Choral Society and Orchestra (NYCHORAL) will present its first program of the season, MY SHADOW AND MY LIGHT, under the baton of Music Director David Hayes at the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. In honor of Veterans Day and in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War and the 80th anniversary of Kristallnacht, Maestro Hayes has chosen a program that explores how three early 20th-century composers, two British and one American, created works expressing their deeply personal reactions to these profound moments in human history.
