The French Institute Alliance Fran aise (FIAF), New York's premier French cultural and language center, today announced the 2019 Crossing the Line Festival, featuring 11 performances and a gallery exhibition from a geographically, generationally, and artistically diverse group of artists whose work transcends genres and boundaries. All performances are world, US, or New York premieres; they are united by their convention-breaking fearlessness as they confront topics from social injustice to personal demons. Many of the performances pay homage to legendary artists of our time and previous eras, while the theme of migration and its transformational effects on identity informs several others. Craft Recordings is set to release a deluxe, 20thanniversary reissue of Filter's platinum-selling, sophomore album Title of Record. Due outAugust 9th, the album has been remastered and will be available on vinyl for the first time, as well as on CD and digital. All formats are expanded featuring four bonus tracks: “(Can't You) Trip Like I Do” (originally recorded for the cult-classic soundtrack Spawn The Album),“Jurassitol” (previously released on The Crow: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), plus remixes of the singles “The Best Things (Humble Brothers Remix)” and “Take a Picture (H&H Remix).” Both the two-LP set, and CD will feature new liner notes by author, journalist, and Side Jams podcast host Bryan Reesman. The expanded digital album also offers five additional rarities, including a live version of “Take A Picture,” “The Best Things (Dub Pistols Club Mix)” and more.

The 72nd Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 10th at 8/9c hosted by Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long awards season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. HartBeat Ensemble announces the world premiere of Pegao, a family drama set in Puerto Rico in the 1970s. The new work, built a round of high-stakes game of dominos, is written by Ensemble member Cin Martinez with dramaturgy by acclaimed playwright Edwin Sanchez and is directed by Ensemble member Hannah Simms. The cast for Pegao includes Yohanna Florentino, Clara Tristan, Joel Oramas, and Angelina Adam. Performances run May 30 through June 9, 2019 at HartBeat Ensemble's Carriage House Theatre (360 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT). Pegao will be presented in Spanish and Spanglish with English captioning. The Saturday performances will be presented without English captions. Tickets are $25; $20 for students, seniors, and Greater Hartford Arts Councils' Let's Go cardholders. No one is turned away due to lack of funds. The annual Broadway League Awards, honoring excellence and achievement for Touring Broadway, were announced today during the Broadway League's 2019 Spring Road Conference. First presented in 1992, the Broadway League Awards recognize the contributions of those who have displayed exemplary service to the Broadway industry and are considered innovators of their craft.

More than 1,000 graduates from 67 countries and 47 U.S. states received degrees today at Berklee College of Music's 2019 commencement. At the ceremony, Berklee President Roger H. Brown presented honorary doctor of music degrees to music icons Missy Elliott, Justin Timberlake, and Alex Lacamoire. Lacamoire, a 1995 graduate of the college, delivered the commencement address to the graduating class and an estimated audience of nearly 7,000 guests at Agganis Arena.

Technically any venue with 500 seats or more, located along Broadway in New York City's Theatre District is a Broadway theatre, and the art that is produced in these special places is widely considered the highest form of theatrical entertainment in the world. Today, forty-one theatres are technically Broadway houses, each with their own rich history. Two years ago, lying on a couch in the #9 Lounge at the Evening Star Cafe in Alexandria, VA, I was eulogized. I had watched other audience members receive secret family recipes, help rehearse a marriage proposal, even destroy a speed limit sign with a hammer. But the card I drew was Death. So, naturally, I was eulogized in front of the rest of the audience. The thing my funeral had in common with all these other short vignettes was the sense that, without my involvement, none of this could happen. I mattered. When it was done, I opened my eyes, took the flower offered to me, and found my seat. The oration was by Quill Nebeker, my Medium for the evening.

The new Broadway musical JAGGED LITTLE PILL will begin preview performances at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 W 44th St., NYC) on Sunday, November 3, 2019, with an official opening night of Thursday, December 5, 2019.

The 29th annual Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film Festival (Inside Out), championing innovative LGBTQ filmmakers from across the globe, revealed its full feature and short film lineup. The announcement was made today by Inside Out's Executive Director Andria Wilson and the festival's Director of Programming Andrew Murphy. Inside Out, which launched the first ever annual LGBTQ Film Finance Forum, has established itself as an international home and incubator for LGBTQ emerging and established filmmakers. This year's festival will take place May 23 to June 2, 2019.

The team behind 2016's acclaimed production of Tennessee Williams' rarely-seen Kingdom of Earth, is back - this time, with Williams' Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece, A Streetcar Named Desire. Global Creatures' Broadway-bound Moulin Rouge and the Huntington Theatre Company's production of Man in the Ring were the big winners at the 23rd Annual IRNE Awards, as the two productions garnered a dozen awards between them. Moulin Rouge took home seven awards, including Best Musical, New Musical and Director in the Large Stage category, and Man in the Ring was honored with five, including the Best Play, Director, and Actor awards. Moonbox Productions' Cabaret earned a half-dozen awards, including Best Musical, and Best Director and Choreography awards for its director, Rachel Bertone.  Lauren Patten of JAGGED LITTLE PILL took home the award for Best Supporting Actress for a Large Company.

Ardent Theatre Company today announces the full cast for the first revival of Philip Osment's This Island's Mine. Philip Wilson directs Connor Bannister (Luke), Jane Bertish (Miss Rosenblum/Vladimir), Theo Fraser Steele (Martin/Stephen/Prospero), Corey Montague-Sholay (Selwyn/Dave), Tom Ross-Williams (Mark/The Director/Frank), Rachel Summers (Jody/Mme Irina/Debbie/Wayne), and Rebecca Todd (Marianne/Maggie/Miranda). This Island's Mine opens at the King's Head Theatre on 17 May, with previews from 15 May, until 8 June.

BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) is pleased to celebrate an evening of exceptional songwriting at its 67th Annual BMI Pop Awards.  In an event 22 years in the making,Sting, already a BMI Icon, will be honored for his enduring hit single “Every Breath You Take,” which has become the Most Performed Song in BMI's catalog of over 14 million musical works.  The award ceremony will also celebrate multi-platinum GRAMMY Award-winning band Imagine Dragons with the BMI President's Award, and Martin Bandier, legendary music publishing executive, will be named a BMI Icon, the first time a music publisher has been given this honor. The private event will be hosted by BMI President and CEO Mike O'Neill and Vice President Worldwide Creative Barbara Cane and will take place on Tuesday, May 14th at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. 

Three of Oregon's flagship, family-run wineries have banded together to create Second Generation Vintners' Oregon Originals Pinot Noir Cuvée - '2GV' for short. The 2017 debut vintage is a collective effort on the part of second-generation siblings now in charge at Elk Cove Vineyards (Adam and Anna Campbell), Ponzi Vineyards (Anna Maria and Luisa Ponzi) and Sokol Blosser Winery (Alex and Alison Sokol Blosser). 2GV, with an SRP of $100 and scheduled for release in late March, is the result of fruit sourced from all three.

On Monday, April 8 at their annual Broadway Beacon Awards Gala at The JW Marriot Essex House (160 Central Park South), leading NYC arts education nonprofit Inside Broadway (Executive Director, Michael Presser) will honor Tony Award-winning Broadway icon Chita Rivera and NBC News/The Today Show's Al Roker. Rivera will be receiving the first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award which will be presented to her by celebrated musician Steven Van Zandt of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band.

'Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations' opened March 21, at Broadway's legendary Imperial Theatre. However, many fans of the Temptations music may not know the group's long and complicated history. 

Christina Scheppelmann will become Seattle Opera's fourth General Director in the company's 56-year history. Beginning in August 2019, she replaces Aidan Lang, who will become General Director of Welsh National Opera following the end of the 2018/19 season.
