Following a sold-out engagement at Feinstein's at the Nikko in 2018, The Broadway Princess Party will perform at Walnut Creek's Lesher Center for the Arts on Sunday, August 25 at 3 p.m.

Actors' Equity Association has presented Hadestown with the thirteenth annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. Presented by Equity's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA), the ACCA Award is the only industry accolade of its kind to honor the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical.

This summer Goodspeed Musicals will produce the heartwarming new musical Because of Winn Dixie. This touching tale based on the award-winning novel by Kate DiCamillo will run June 28 - September 1 at The Goodspeed in East Haddam, Conn.

Hale Centre Theatre's current staging of NEWSIES has all the crispness and vitality typical of a Cambrian James production ~ his well-conceived and executed direction and choreography, Lincoln Wright's musical direction, and a proficient and dynamic cast to boot, featuring Kade Bailey as Jack Kelly, the reluctant rebel. I had the pleasure of seeing A Bronx Tale with my friend Cassy, who had NEVER seen a musical before! (I know, right?!) I invited Cassy because the 1993 movie, off which the musical is based, is her favorite. Seriously, her cat is named Calogero, after the lead character in both the movie and the play. I was excited to see this show, and especially excited to see it through the eyes of a neophyte theater goer. I was not disappointed!

The complete cast has just been announced for the 10th Anniversary Production of ROCK OF AGES, opening this summer at New World Stages (340 W 50th St). Nominated for five Tony Awards during its record-breaking Broadway run, this return engagement begins performances on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 for a 16-week limited run through Sunday, October 6, 2019.

Acclaimed Broadway performer Corey Cott and rising star Mikaela Bennett will headline Lyric Opera of Chicago's premiere of Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's groundbreaking American musical West Side Story, presented from May 3 - June 2, 2019 at the Lyric Opera House, 20 N. Florida Repertory Theatre's Education Department is announcing the opening of Disney's "Newsies" as part of its popular Conservatory Program. Playing in the Historic Arcade Theatre May 10-12 and May 15-19, the musical sensation features a professional director and creative team and an all-star cast of young people from across Southwest Florida.

The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation will honor Pegasus Transit and David Ralphe with this year's Pillar of the Arts Awards at the Spotlight Awards Ceremony during a dinner and auction event to be held Saturday, May 11 at the Wood Ranch Country Club. Ralphe and Pegasus Transit are being honored for their extraordinary support of the arts in our community. A teen-helmed production of the Tony Award-winning rock musical, Spring Awakening, is set to open at the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood on May 11, 2019. Directed by 14-year-old wunderkind George Baron, (whose directorial debut for the stage was his jukebox-styled Broadway musical revue I Confess at the Whitefire Theatre), the cast also features up-and-coming young talents performing in the adolescent roles with musical direction by Estani Frizzell. The musical is based on Frank Wedekind's 1891 controversial play about teenagers trying to find their way in the world amid the angst of sexual discovery. Featuring music by Duncan Sheik and book and lyrics by Steven Sater, the original Broadway production received eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and was hailed by the New York Drama Critics Circle, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle as the Best Musical of the Year.

 The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced an incredible six-show lineup for its 201920 season. First, The 5th will stage a lavish production of Austen's Pride, A New Musical of Pride and Prejudice. For the holidays, The 5th will create a brand new staging of Shrek The Musical, which premiered at The 5th in 2008. Producer Mark Cortale's Broadway concert series, hosted by Sirius XM radio star Seth Rudetsky, has announced that Tony Award nominee and star of The CW's Supergirl Jeremy Jordan will join the internationally acclaimed series at NOCCA in New Orleans on Friday, March 29 at 8:00 PM.
