The outstanding new CNN Films documentary The Reagan Show uses archival footage of President Ronald Reagan, much of it documented by U.S. Naval Photographic unit for the White House and maintained by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum. The documentary has inspired a week-long film series at Museum of the Moving Image. The series The Ronald Reagan Picture Show, which runs August 25 through 30, includes a special screening of The Reagan Show (on August 30) followed by a discussion with filmmakers Sierra Pettengill and Pacho Velez, CNN senior media correspondent and host of Reliable Sources Brian Stelter, and presidential historian Tim Naftali. During the weekend prior to this screening, the Museum will present rare screenings of some of Ronald Reagan's most memorable film roles, all presented in 35mm.

Hartford Opera Theater is pleased to present THE TENDER LAND with music by Aaron Copland, libretto by Horace Everett, as its main stage production. The Goethe-Institut has announced The Plurality of Privacy Project in Five-Minute Plays (P3M5), a transatlantic theater project initiated to explore the value of privacy. In cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Washington, theaters across the United States and Europe have commissioned playwrights to write five minute plays themed around the question, "What does privacy mean to you in the digital age?"

Back in 2008, the creators of Unbound Productions - Jonathan Josephson, Paul Millet, and Jeff G. Rack - bet that audiences were ready for something different. Tony Award-winning costume designer, JESS GOLDSTEIN (currently represented on Broadway with Jersey Boys and On the Town), and scenic designer DOUGLAS W. SCHMIDT are among the 2015 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, May 1, at 6:30pm, at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Mr. Goldstein was selected to receive the 2015 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design and Mr. Schmidt will receive the Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design.

EgoPo Classic Theater's 2014-15 American Giants Festival continues with the Philadelphia premiere of Tennessee Williams' rarely-seen early play, Stairs to the Roof, running today, February 11-March 1 at the Latvian Society, with press opening on Friday, February 13.

Tonight, February 10, through February 12, 2015, EarShot (the National Orchestral Composition Discovery Network) and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO), JoAnn Falletta, Music Director, will present the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra New Music Readings at Kleinhans Music Hall (3 Symphony Circle, Buffalo).

From February 10-12, 2015, EarShot (the National Orchestral Composition Discovery Network) and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO), JoAnn Falletta, Music Director, will present the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra New Music Readings at Kleinhans Music Hall (3 Symphony Circle, Buffalo). On Wednesday, February 11 at 7pm at Kleinhans Hall, the public will have the opportunity for a behind-the-scenes look at the process of bringing brand new orchestral works to life, as music by the four selected composers is read by the BPO under the baton of associate conductor, Stefan Sanders. The composers – Cody Forrest, Jay Hurst, Yuan-Chen Li, and Scott Ordway – were selected through a national call for scores, and during the Readings will receive feedback from BPO Musicians, Sanders, and mentor composers Robert Beaser of The Juilliard School and artistic director laureate of American Composers Orchestra, Rob Deemer from SUNY Fredonia, and Pulitzer Prize winner Melinda Wagner. Afterwards, the audience is invited to be a part of a discussion Q&A with the young composers, the conductor, and mentor composers.
