Having recently celebrated his 76th birthday in front of the iconic Capitol Records building in Hollywood as part of his #PeaceAndLove birthday celebration, Ringo Starr presented a gift to Southern California fans when he announced a new set of fall tour dates that includes a concert at Segerstrom Center for the Arts today, October 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Segerstrom Hall.

With one of the most in demand concert outings of the year, music legend Brian Wilson is extending the final performance run of his Pet Sounds 50th Anniversary World Tour and includes a stop at Hershey Theatre onTuesday, April 25 at 8:00 p.m. 

I once fell in love with an album cover: Barbra Streisand, dressed in the height of granny chic, in a straw hat, drapey black cardigan and maxi skirt, and men's-style oxfords with rakish white socks...a desolate stage littered with sheet music...a rich burgundy-and-black color scheme. The talent who first burst forth onstage in 1962 in 'I Can Get It for You Wholesale'; who made a hilarious, touching 'Funny Girl' her signature role; who tackled 'A Star Is Born' in its third film incarnation-and who has stayed mostly in the spotlight professionally and mostly out of it personally over the last 54 years-has mellowed, but her voice is still completely unique, and her fans (old and new) still utterly devoted. Her political activism has become part of her shtick, and her recent live performance of a 'Send in the Clowns' parody mocking Donald Trump has become a popular clip online. She is, for lack of a less battered word, an icon, and fans thrilled to see her-as always, dressed for the occasion-hand the Tony for Best Musical to 'Hamilton' this year.

Great Lakes Theater (GLT) will commence its 2016-17 season at the Hanna Theatre, Playhouse Square with a Fall Repertory that features the Tony Award-winning musical classic, My Fair Lady and Shakespeare's enchanting romantic comedy, Twelfth Night. The productions will be performed in rotating repertory September 23 - October 30, 2016. Victoria Bussert will direct My Fair Lady. Drew Barr will direct Twelfth Night. My Fair Lady (Book and Lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner / Music by Frederick Loewe / Adapted from George Bernard Shaw's play Pygmalion) is presented by arrangement with TAMS-WITMARK MUSIC LIBRARY, INC.

The play celebrates its opening tonight, August 9, after a short delay.

Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, announces a one-week extension to Company, featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by George Furth. The production is directed by William Brown. Company features original orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick, Orchestral Reductions by Ian Weinberger, music direction by Tom Vendafreddo and choreography by Brock Clawson. The show, originally slated to run through July 31, 2016, will add an additional week, through August 7, in the Alexandra C. and John D. Nichols Theatre at 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe.
