Roundabout Theatre Company's production of Joe Masteroff, John Kander and Fred Ebb's Tony winning musical Cabaret, starring Tony Award-winner Alan Cumming and Golden Globe-winner Michelle Williams, begins previews tomorrow, Friday March 21. Cabaret officially opens on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street). This is a 24-week limited engagement. Cleveland Orchestra and Lakewood Community Join Forces for Neighborhood Residency

The Cleveland Orchestra and the Lakewood community are joining together to present The Cleveland Orchestra at home in Lakewood, a neighborhood residency that began on February 17, 2014, when Cleveland Orchestra Assistant Conductor Brett Mitchell visited the Lakewood High School Chamber Orchestra to assist in preparation for an Ohio Music Educators Association State Ensemble Adjudicated Event. The four-month residency of educational programs and performances for all ages culminates in an intensive week of free events from May 17-24, 2014. The centerpiece of the Orchestra's activities in Lakewood will be a public Cleveland Orchestra concert led by Music Director Franz Welser-Most at Lakewood Civic Auditorium on Saturday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m. A delayed broadcast of the concert will be presented by WVIZ/PBS ideastream, and a live broadcast of the concert will air on WCLV 104.9 ideastream. Tickets will be distributed throughout Lakewood beginning on Saturday, April 26. (See list of distribution locations below.) The television broadcast will feature a composite of community collaborations, musical performances, and joint events and activities throughout Lakewood.

Primavera has announced full casting for Jean-Jacques Bernard's seminal 1922 play Martine, which opens on Tuesday, 22 April 2014 for a four-week season. Award-winning film and television star Hannah Murray plays Martine, supported by the iconic Susan Penhaligon as Madame Mervan, Leila Crerar as Jeanne, Chris Porter as Alfred, and Barnaby Sax as Julien.

She was 26; he was 73. Soon after, he invited her to California to write his memoir. They fell in love, married, and were together until his death in 1996.

Polish pianist Rafa? Blechacz (pronounced Ra-FAW BLEH-hatch) has been named the recipient of the 2014 Gilmore Artist Award, it was announced today by Daniel R. Gustin, Director of the Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival. One of the most prestigious honors in music, the Gilmore Artist Award is presented every four years on a non-competitive basis to an exceptional pianist who, regardless of age or nationality, has the potential to sustain a career as a major international concert artist. Mr. Blechacz will receive $300,000 in support of his musical and career goals over the next four years. Previous recipients of the Gilmore Artist Award are Kirill Gerstein (2010), Ingrid Fliter (2006), Piotr Anderszewski (2002), Leif Ove Andsnes (1998), Ralf Gothóni (1994) and David Owen Norris (1991).
