Southampton Arts Center presents a series of illustrated talks with influential photographers, specially created by the International Center of Photography (ICP), to shine a light on the power of images to raise awareness, create connection, and effect change in today's world.

The Lincoln Theatre Association and The Ohio State University Athletic Department celebrate the national release of Columbus native Wil Haygood's newest book, Tigerland, with a launch event on Wednesday, September 19, at the Lincoln Theatre. Tigerland is the inspiring true story of two teams from poor, black, and segregated East High School (Columbus), who, amid the racial turbulence of the 1968-69 school year, won both the baseball and basketball state championships.

The Crossing, winner of the 2018 Grammy Award for Best Choral Performance, releases its next album, Lansing McLoskey: Zealot Canticles on September 28, 2018 on Innova Recordings. Based on Nigerian Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka's 'Twelve Canticles for the Zealot' - a strangely beautiful and terrifying look into the minds of fanatics - Lansing McLoskey's Zealot Canticles is a concert-length choral 'oratorio' for clarinet, string quartet, and 24-voice choir. The work makes virtuosic demands on all the artists, particularly on the clarinetist, here, Philadelphia's Doris Hall-Galuti. The string quartet on the album is comprised of violinists Rebecca Harris and Mandy Wolman, violist Lorenzo Raval, and cellist Arlen Hlusko.

ZHONG-JING FANG, soloist of American Ballet Theatre, PAOLA HARTLEY, former principal dancer of Ballet Arizona, KARL CONDON, former principal dancer of the Boston Ballet, and ILYA KOZADAYEV, former soloist of the Houston Ballet will be on the Shreveport Dance Academy's Summer Intensive to be held in Shreveport, Louisiana.   Zhong-Jing Fang and Paola Hartley will be on the faculty from July 23-27, 2018, and Karl Condon and  Ilya Kozadayev will be on the faculty from July 30-August 3, 2018.

This fall, The Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami (ICA Miami) will present two major solo career-spanning surveys of Judy Chicago and Larry Bell, highlighting the range and depth of each artist's practice beyond the artistic movements they are each associated with. Featuring iconic installations as well as rarely seen bodies of work, these exhibitions culminate ICA Miami's 2018 season in its new home.

The National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) has announced that applications to become a 2019 YoungArts winner will be accepted beginning today, June 5, through October 12, 2018. YoungArts identifies and nurtures the nation's most accomplished emerging artists in the visual, literary, design and performing arts between the ages of 15 and 18 or in high school grades 10-12.

The New England Foundation for the Arts' Creative City program announces The Way We Live Now (2018), a civic dialogue project on opioids, chronic pain, trauma, and hope by artists Maia Dolphin-Krute (writer) and Jesse Erin Posner (director). The performance takes place Today, May 16, at 6pm at Fenway Health (1340 Boylston Street, 9th Floor, Boston) and is free and open to the public with RSVP at https://thewaywelivenow.wixsite.com/project/events.

Single tickets are now on sale for the inaugural REPRISE 2.0 production of Sweet Charity. Directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, the classic Broadway hit plays from June 20 to July 1 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. REPRISE 2.0 is led by producing artistic director Marcia Seligson.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced complete casting today for the 2018 Free Shakespeare in the Park production of OTHELLO beginning Tuesday, May 29 at the Delacorte Theater, continuing a 56-year tradition of free theater in Central Park. Directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson, OTHELLO will officially open on Monday, June 18 and will run through Sunday, June 24.

On the eve of the premiere of GENIUS: PICASSO on Tuesday April 24, National Geographic announced today that the third season of its acclaimed scripted anthology series will bring to life the myth maker and towering literary figure Mary Shelley. From Fox 21 Television Studios, the new season will again be executive produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard's Imagine Entertainment, MWM Studios and EUE/Sokolow, and will premiere globally on National Geographic in 172 countries and 43 languages in 2019. The first season of GENIUS was watched by more than 45 million people around the world, and was National Geographic's best performing new series launch ever.

The host of Telemundo's “Al Rojo Vivo” news magazine, María Celeste Arrarás, will soon add her name to the Las Vegas Walk of Stars. She is the first person born in Puerto Rico to receive this honor, held by a select group of superstars such as Juan Gabriel, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Luis Miguel, Vicente Fernández and Jenni Rivera.  María Celeste's star will be unveiled in a special ceremony on Tuesday, April 24, and installed in its permanent sidewalk home for public viewing the following day, Wednesday, April 25.

Award-winning actor/director Frank Ferrante re-creates his acclaimed New York and London stage portrayal celebrating America's greatest comedian - Groucho Marx.  You will feel as though Groucho is back, as Ferrante sings, dances and performs classic routines on the North Coast Rep stage, April 23 & 24 at 7:30pm.

Trinity Repertory Company announced today that three area residents will be honored at its 2018 Pell Awards Gala on Monday, May 21, 2018 in Providence.  Pawtucket-based designer and artist Morris Nathanson will receive a Rhode Island Pell Award for Excellence in the Arts. Longtime Providence philanthropist and arts advocate Jane S. Nelson will receive the Charles Sullivan Award for Distinguished Service in the Arts. The Pell Award for Outstanding Leadership in the Arts will go to Jeannine Chartier in recognition of her work with VSA arts Rhode Island. Additional honorees will be announced at a later date.
