Anna Netrebko to Star in Puccini's MANON LESCAUT at the Met, Tonight

Anna Netrebko will add a new role to her wide-ranging Met repertory tonight through December 3 when she sings her first company performances of the seductive, tragic heroine of Puccini's Manon Lescaut.Marcelo Álvarez makes his role debut as Manon's obsessed lover des Grieux, with Christopher Maltman stars as Manon's brother Lescaut and Brindley Sherratt as Geronte, Manon's older lover. The November 21, December 7, and December 10 performances will star Kristine Opolais as Manon, reprising a role she first sang with the company in last season's premiere of Sir Richard Eyre's staging. Marco Armiliato will conduct all performances of Manon Lescaut at the Met this season.

PREMIERES' Inner Voices Series Opens Tonight Off-Broadway

PREMIERES, the New York based music theater organization whose mission is 'to bring new music theater to light,' has announced the complete cast and creative teams for this season's Inner Voices, the biannual series of solo works featuring new teams of playwrights and composers. Performances began October 3rd and continue through October 29 at The TBG Theatre (312 West 36th Street - between 8th & 9th Avenues). Opening Night is tonight, October 13th at 8:00pm.

The Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre Announces 2017 Season Line-Up

Following the recent unveiling of The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre's 2017 Mainstage Season, the theatre's producers have announced the 2017 Season line-up for the company's popular children's theatre. San Francisco Opera General Director Matthew Shilvock today announced the casting and schedule for the Company's summer 2018 presentations of Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung). The four-opera cycle of Das Rheingold,Die Walkure, Siegfried and Gotterdammerung-widely considered the greatest and most ambitious work ever conceived for the lyric stage-will be presented in three complete cycles from June 12 through July 1, 2018.

Kankuro Kudo's anarchic Japanese comedy Too Young to Die! is the Audience Award Winner of the 15th New York Asian Film Festival, announced the festival's executive director Samuel Jamier today. The event came to a close on Saturday night after screening 51 films over 18 days at the Film Society of Lincoln Center and the SVA Theatre in Manhattan.
