As BWW reported earlier today, Emmy winner Derek Hough has announced that his upcoming lead role performance in SINGIN' IN THE RAIN will now be delayed indefinitely due to a lack of available theaters. The dancer made his Broadway debut in 2010's BURN THE FLOOR and also starred in a West End production of FOOTLOOSE.

Despite the news, Hough fans can still rejoice now that it has been confirmed that the hoofer will make his return to ABC's DANCING WITH THE STARS, which will premiere its 23rd season on Monday, September 12th. In addition, Hough will take on the iconic role of Corny Collins in NBC's HAIRSPRAY LIVE this December.

As announced on this morning's GMA, Hough will be paired with Broadway alum Marilu Henner on the ABC dance competition. Best known for her role in the long-running sitcom TAXI, Henner's Broadway musical credits include her 1997 appearance as Roxi Hart in CHICAGO, 1976's PAL JOEY, 1974's OVER HERE and 1974's GREASE, in which she took on the role of Marty. The actress has also appeared on Broadway in 2002's comedic play THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE and 1986's SOCIAL SECURITY. She also portrayed Annie Oakley in the 2000 National tour of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN.
