BroadwayWorld has learned that The Muny announced today 25 principal cast members for the first season of its second century. Complete company casting will be announced throughout April and May. The 101st season opens on a brand new, state-of-the-art stage with Muny favorite Guys and Dolls followed by the U.S. regional premiere of Kinky Boots. The season continues with 1776, Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, Footloose and a newly-reimagined Lerner and Loewe's Paint Your Wagon. Season 101 closes with the highly-anticipated Muny debut of Roald Dahl's Matilda.

Born in Peoria, Illinois, on April 10, 1962, at only 6 months, the first-born son of Richard Pryor and his first wife, Patricia Watts, had to stay in the hospital for several weeks until he reached 5 pounds - and he was so small, his parents had to buy doll socks to fit his feet.

Fox 2000 has bought the movie rights to “The Hate U Give” author Angie Thomas's upcoming novel “On the Come Up,” according to Variety.

Dreamgirls follows the story of a black, all-girl singing trio from Chicago called 'The Dreams' and the behind-the-scenes reality of the entertainment industry. At first, the Dreams' manager falls in love with the lead singer, Effie. Later, he abandons her both romantically and professionally, replacing her with someone thinner. Eventually, Effie manages to recover from the blow and builds a successful career going solo. Will they reunite, resulting in a happy ending for all?

Edward R. Matthews, CEO of ADAPT Community Network, announced its 2019 ADAPT Leadership Awards Gala to take place on Thursday, March 14th, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. The event will be hosted by Cara Buono, co‐star of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, and Emmy‐ nominee for her role on Mad Men. The awards honor the accomplishments of extraordinary individuals and corporations who have made an impact on people with disabilities and have inspired others through their professional and charitable endeavors. Graceland has announced that five time GRAMMY Award winning country superstar and Grand Ole Opry member Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives will bring his eclectic blend of rockabilly, honky-tonk, and traditional country music to The Guest House at GracelandTM Theater on June 9 for an electrifying, one-night only, concert performance at 8 p.m. Opening for Stuart will be the London-based, country-folk-pop quartet The Wandering Hearts whose deft fingerpicking, rousing choruses, dark-hued lyrics, and sweet, close vocal harmonies have drawn comparisons to Fleetwood Mac and accolades from fellow musicians including Stuart.
