Long Day’s Journey Into Night

The Emmy, Golden Globe and Olivier award-winning actor Brian Cox, has made his return to the London stage in Jeremy Herrin’s new production of Long Day’s Journey Into Night.

Eugene O'Neill's classic play of family strife has had regular revivals in London (most recently in 2018 and 2012). Set in 1912 and published posthumously in 1956, it remains one of the great American plays. Brian Cox returns to the London stage as James Tyrone, actor, family colossus, and flawed man, in a mesmerising performance.

In a new interview, Long Day's Journey into Night stars Brian Cox and Patricia Clarkson responded to the idea that celebrities are used as a marketing tactic in the theater. 

Laurie Kynaston has joined Long Day's Journey Into Night in the role of Edmund Tyrone, replacing Anthony Boyle who has had to withdraw due to personal reasons. Learn more about the production!

Olivier Award-winner and Tony Award-nominee Anthony Boyle (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) will join the cast of Long Day's Journey into Night, playing the role of Edmund Tyrone. He will be replacing Alex Lawther who has reluctantly withdrawn from the production due to a scheduling conflict.
