Main Street Theater Extends GIRLS ONLY thru Dec 2 by BWW News Desk - Sep 30, 2012

Girls Only - The Secret Comedy of Women, the hit comedy currently playing at Main Street Theater - Chelsea Market, has announced that the show has extended its Houston engagement until December 2, 2012, according to a statement released by Sydney Greenblatt, the play's on-site producer. The production, originally scheduled to run from Sept. 9 through October 14, will add 34 performances.

Few people know the real story of football's most legendary coach, Vince Lombardi. Through his inspirations and passions, he had an ability to drive people to achieve more than they ever thought possible. Arizona Theatre Company's "Lombardi" centers on the iconic Green Bay Packers coach during a pivotal week in 1965. This Southwest premiere production of the Broadway hit plays at the Temple of Music and Art and runs from October 20 - November 10, 2012. It continues its run in Phoenix at the Herberger Theater Center from November 15 - December 2, 2012. "Lombardi" is supported by Opening Night Sponsor, Kate Garner. Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced the 2014 Nikos Stage offerings, completing the 60th Anniversary Season for the Tony Award-winning theatre company. The Nikos Stage season kicks off on July 9th with the East Coast premiere of Samuel D. Hunter's acclaimed play A Great Wilderness (July 9 - 20) and will also include a revival of Sam Shepard's Fool For Love, directed by Daniel Aukin with Lauren Ambrose (making her Festival debut) and Chris Pine (returning to Williamstown after 12 years), playing July 24 - August 3. The Nikos Stage season ends with the anticipated return of the PigPen Theatre Co.'s celebrated production of The Old Man and the Old Moon (August 6 - 17).

The Old Globe today announced the creative team of Christopher Durang's Tony Award-winning farce Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, which will be directed by Jessica Stone. Stone, who is a frequent collaborator with Old Globe Associate Artist Nicholas Martin, will base this production on his Tony-nominated Broadway direction. Martin had been previously announced to return to San Diego to direct but had to withdraw due to scheduling conflicts. Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike will run May 17 - June 22, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run May 17 - 21. Opening night is May 22 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by subscription only. The organizer is already struggling unsuccessfully to reunite her own family. As she is sorely tested by this job, her growing toward the light is an object lesson to Baby Boomers, whose struggles to care for dependent parents are a preoccupation of our age. The comedic drama will be presented August 15 to September 7 by Right Down Broadway Productions at Walkerspace, 46 Walker Street. Eve Brandstein directs a cast of mostly Broadway regulars including Loni Ackerman, Bob Ari, Phillip Christian, Gillien Goll, Michael McKenzie and Celia Schaefer.
