Influential NYC indie greats Versus have shared new single 'Gravity' from their upcoming album Ex Voto, their first full-length album in nine years. The track debuted via The Big Takeover, who called it a 'spacey and vibrant stunner.' Ex Voto will be released on August 16, 2019 via Ernest Jenning Record Co. 

Presented by Asian CineVision, the 42nd Asian American International Film Festival (AAIFF42), and taking place July 25 – August 3 in New York City, has announced its full film lineup. The first and longest running Asian interest film festival in the country, AAIFF42 will be presenting 12 narrative features, 9 documentary features, and 67 short films, from 19 countries.

The French Institute Alliance Fran aise (FIAF), New York's premier French cultural and language center, today announced the 2019 Crossing the Line Festival, featuring 11 performances and a gallery exhibition from a geographically, generationally, and artistically diverse group of artists whose work transcends genres and boundaries. All performances are world, US, or New York premieres; they are united by their convention-breaking fearlessness as they confront topics from social injustice to personal demons. Many of the performances pay homage to legendary artists of our time and previous eras, while the theme of migration and its transformational effects on identity informs several others. Influential NYC indie greats Versus are excited to announce Ex Voto, their first new full-length album in nine years. Today, the group has shared the album's first single, 'Mummified.' Ex Voto will see a release on August 16, 2019 via Ernest Jenning Record Co. 

Environmental conservation organization, EcoHealth Alliance will honor award-winning Hollywood producer and author, Lynda Obst at the nonprofit's spring benefit “Going Viral – Connecting You to a Healthier World” on May 16 at Guastavino's in NYC for her work on National Geographic's The Hot Zone. Lynda took the time to speak with us about her work.

Cara Mia Theatre continues its tradition of creating new and experimental plays that reflect the Latinx experience through Teatro En Fuga: A Festival of New Works (April 12- April 28, 2019).  This one-of-a-kind festival in North Texas features new plays by members of Cara Mia's resident artistic ensemble. All plays are works in progress and allow audience members to experience the development of new work for potential world premiere productions in future seasons.

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler, announced the cast of the first production of its 2018-19 Season: Universe Rushing Apart: Blue Kettle & Here We Go, two one-act plays by Caryl Churchill, directed by Bryn Boice. The production runs November 7-18 at the Black Box Theater, Sorenson Center for the Arts at Babson College in Wellesley.

Following the announcement of their Opening Night Film, Yen Tan's award-winning AIDS drama 1985, NewFest today announced the full lineup of their 30th annual celebration of the year's best LGBT films from around the world. The program of more than 140 narrative features, documentaries, episodic series and shorts runs from October 24-30 at the SVA Theatre, Cinépolis Chelsea, and The LGBT Community Center in New York City.

The 2018-2019 season includes six Broadway shows, headlined by the Tony and Grammy Award-winning Blockbuster Beautiful – The Carole King Musical. Also coming as part of the Haverland Carter Broadway in New Mexico series are Finding Neverland, The Sound of Music, Kinky Boots, and the newly-restaged Cats. RENT 20THANNIVERSARY TOUR will also tour to Popejoy as a Broadway Extra.

Lewis & Tolkien: Of Wardrobes and Rings, written by and featuring David Payne and directed by Marc Whitmore,will make its New York debut at the Black Box Theater at The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture. Performances began on May 23 with opening night scheduled for May 31, the engagement runs throughJune 14.

PlayGround caps off its twenty-fourth season with Best of PlayGround 22, running May 10-27, 2018 (Press Night: May 12) at Potrero Stage. This fully-produced showcase of the best new playwrights and short plays have been selected from more than 150 submissions and 36 works developed as part of the season's Monday Night PlayGround staged reading series. Noteworthy director/performers Margo Hall, Becca Wolff, Soren Oliver, Jim Kleinmann, Katja Rivera, and Jenny McAllister join in to direct the Best of PlayGround 22 short plays.

The intimate Event Gallery at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts will host alternative country/blues/folk rock band Cowboy Junkies on Saturday, July 28 at 8:00 p.m. Located at the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock festival in Bethel, NY, reserved seating tickets will go on-sale to the general public on Friday, May 4th at 10:00 a.m. at www.BethelWoodsCenter.org
