Rehearsals begin today for The 5th Avenue Theatre's new production of Mamma Mia!, the celebrated musical that features the music of global pop sensation ABBA. The 5th Avenue Theatre is the first producing theater company in the Pacific Northwest to be granted the rights to create its own refreshed version of the show, which toured the world for nearly 20 years.

Anyone who's had the pleasure of experiencing a Groundlings show will not only have tired hands from all the clapping and strained lungs from all the whooping and laughing, but also have worn-out toes from tapping along with the smoking hot Groundlings house band. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the complete company for The Pajama Game directed by Alan Paul in his Arena Stage debut, with music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, and book by George Abbott and Richard Bissell.

Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) announces its 27th season, with performances in THE BLACK BOX, FPAC's home and performance venue in downtown Franklin, and two holiday productions staged at Franklin High School. FPAC opens the season with award-winning playwright Yasmina Reza's God of Carnage, presented September 29-October 1. Winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play, the acclaimed dark comedy takes place in the Cobble Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, where civility unravels as two sets of parents discuss how to deal with a playground altercation that occurred between the couples' sons the previous day.

Lauren Taslitz (book/lyrics) and Danny Ursetti (music) are pleased to announce that their new project REGRETTING ALMOST EVERYTHING (formerly titled Things We Think, But Don't Dare Say) will make its debut with a special two-night run as the final installment of this year's "Artists on the Horizon" emerging musical theater artists series at Mr. Finn's Cabaret at Barrington Stage Company, starring Broadway veterans Anne L. The Mac-Haydn Theatre (MHT), after a successful run of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, continues its 49th season with the 2004 musical comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Based off of the 1988 movie of the same name, the 10-time Tony nominated musical by David Yazbek and Jeffrey Lane will be a MHT premiere.

Celebrating its landmark 35th anniversary season, on Monday, June 12 at their annual Broadway Beacon Awards Gala at The JW Marriot Essex House (160 Central Park South), leading NYC arts education nonprofit Inside Broadway (Executive Director, Michael Presser) will honor Tony and Emmy Award nominated actress Kate Burton (currently starring in the Tony Award nominated revival of Present Laughter) and Tony nominee Ramin Karimloo (currently starring in the Tony Award Nominated musical Anastasia), as well as Tino Gagliardi, president of Local 802 American Federation of Musicians, the largest union of professional musicians in the world.

The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents Born for This July 11 through August 6 (press opening on July 20).  Kicking off The Broad Stage's 2017-18 Theatre Season, this new musical features original music by six time GRAMMY Award-winning artist BeBe Winans, book by Charles Randolph-Wright and BeBe Winans, and is directed by Randolph-Wright (director of the Broadway and West End runaway hit Motown: The Musical).

The new Stan Zimmerman & Christian McLaughlin play, Knife to the Heart, a comedy about circumcision, will hold a private reading on October 16, 2016, at Los Angeles's Lex Theatre. The cast for the reading will include Wendie Malick (Hot in Cleveland), Todd Sherry (Parks & Recreation), Katie Walder (How I Met Your Mother), and Josh Zuckerman (Desperate Housewives). Michael Matthews will direct.
