Jobsite Theater kicks off their 20th Anniversary Season with the groundbreaking, Obie and Tony Award-winning cult-hit rock musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, playing Aug. 17 - Sep. 9 in the Shimberg Playhouse at the Straz Center where Jobsite is resident theater company.

LYSISTRATA UNBOUND, a new take on Aristophanes' LYSISTRATA by Eduardo Machado will world premiere June 9, 2018 in an Odyssey Theatre/Not Man Apart collaboration, with John Farmanesh-Bocca directing his wife Brenda Strong in the title role.  We had the chance to ask a few questions of the always working Brenda.

Sex, drugs and booze make up the life of Brad Burke, while ex-seminary student Gary Henderson is so closeted that he hides his sexuality behind an invented wife. This unlikely pair hook up in a motel room after their 10-year high school reunion and it's a monumental clash of worlds that sparks an 'electricity' between them that lures them back to that same motel room after each reunion for the next 3 decades. Electricity is a very funny, sexy and surprisingly emotional journey through the immense changes that happened to the LGBTQ community between 1983 and 2013. It navigates a world where gay life was hidden in bars and sex clubs to one where equality might just be a reality--if Gary and Brad can only believe that they deserve it. A Broadway Baby for years in supporting and featured roles, Billy Porter won his Tony Award for 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical' in his first leading role on Broadway as Lola in Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein's KINKY BOOTS in 2013. Additional specials include a never-before-seen look at daring prison breaks in Alcatraz: The Greatest Escapes and the two part Ted Bundy: Serial Monster about the riveting real story behind the madman who some experts estimate had more than 100 victims.

Award winning EMH Productions continues its 7th season with a high stakes comedic romp about a bunch of old people.  Okay, older people.  And that right there is why EMH selected this play.  All too often people over 50, 60, 70 are instantly labeled "Old".

Second Stage Theater (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director; Casey Reitz, Executive Director) has announced that Golden Globe and two-time Emmy nominee Josh Charles, Kate Bornstein and Ty Defoe will join Armie Hammer and Tom Skerritt in the Broadway production of Young Jean Lee's dark comedy, STRAIGHT WHITE MEN, directed by Anna D. Shapiro.

Director and playwright Stan Zimmerman has found his quartet of actors for his new comedy Knife to the Heart, co-written with Christian McLaughlin. The show will play a limited run of 3 WEEKS ONLY for 9 performances (May 4-20) at the Dorie Theatre, part of The Complex on LA's famed Theatre Row (6476 Santa Monica Blvd, LA CA 90038). Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm. The cast includes Chelsea Kane ('Baby Daddy'), Todd Sherry ('Parks & Recreation'), Josh Zuckerman (A Delicate Ship) and four-time Emmy-nominee Patricia Richardson ('Home Improvement'). David F. Slone has been blessed to spend much of his life attending and performing in fabulous shows. Nonetheless, he's particularly giddy to be able to celebrate his the culmination of his fifth decade on the planet by presenting this ridiculously eclectic evening of song, dance, magic, circus, comedy, and more!

Two-time Tony Award Winner Norbert Leo Butz is about to take the stage again this year in the Broadway Revival of My Fair Lady as Alfred P. Doolittle -- a part that won George Rose the Tony back in 1976. Butz is one of only nine actors who have won the Best Actor Tony twice (alongside stars like Nathan Lane). As he prepares to take stage yet again, let's reflect on his career: all twenty two years of it!
