Theatre Royal Bath today announces A Season of UK Premieres from the Americas at the Ustinov Studio opening next month. The Model Apartment by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies, directed by Laurence Boswell will run from 22 November to 22 December with opening night for press on 28 November. This will be followed by Tanya Barfield's play with music, Blue Door, directed by Eleanor Rhode from 7 February to 9 March 2019, and a third production, to be announced, will complete the season. Musings will showcase the exciting, fresh, paradigm-shifting storytelling that 5 of New York's leading stage actresses have developed through intensive workshops, called Mini Muses. The week will culminate in a party on October 19th, the 'Mini Gala' - a wine and cheese event to celebrate the week's presentations; and 'Tea Time,' a one-of-a-kind Muse pilot program, where a veteran stage actress discusses her experiences building her career. Adventure Creates Assistant Directors Fellowship for People of Color

Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC), recent recipient of the Weissberg Foundation's 2016-2019 Fund for Diversity in Theater to engage and expand new voices and audiences in DC-area theatres, announces its commitment to a goal of 50% people of color representation (artists, designers and technicians) in its professional theatre season to better reflect the diversity of our audiences and community. This commitment is part of its EDI initiatives which includes a new Fellowship program for Assistant Directors who are people of color and working with a consensus organizer on its production of Huckleberry Finn's Big River. Recognizing a need in the industry for equity and diversity and to reflect the highly diverse DC and Montgomery County area, Adventure Theatre MTC has already upheld this commitment with its current production of Blueberries for Sal cast and creative team. La MaMa Presents A Remote Theater Project Production Of GREY ROCK

La MaMa is proud to present the Remote Theater Project production of Grey Rock, written and directed by Palestinian artist Amir Nizar Zuabi. This world premiere, which runs January 3-7, 2019, was commissioned by Remote Theater Project and marks the first time a U.S. theater company has commissioned a Palestinian artist to create an original work for American audiences. Grey Rock tells the story of a young Palestinian so enamored with the 1969 American moon landing that he muses, "shouldn't Palestine, the land of prophets, also have a presence on the moon?" Without money or technology, but with the help of his bemused West Bank neighbors, he sets out to build a space shuttle. Knowing full well that he can't succeed with this impossible, but necessary, task, the young man is visited by American heroes who guide him on his mission. Humorous and fantastical, Grey Rock explores the influence that America has had over Palestinian culture. (more...)

Christmas time is here… almost. Everyone has a favorite Christmas song and more than likely yours will appear in Sierra Rep's Holiday Jukebox. This production offers something for everyone from Grandma all the way down to the little ones to enjoy. With unabashed holiday schmaltz, Holiday Jukebox will harken back to a time when families crowded on couches to watch hokey TV Christmas specials starring Bing Cosby, Andy Williams, John Denver, and Sonny and Cher. In those hour-long programs, singing stars would display harmless holiday merriment in the form of sentimental songs, silly skits and saccharine moments. The production will feature Emily Gatesman (Intimate Apparel, State Fair), Lucas Michael Chandler (Disney's Beauty and the Beast, A Midsummer Night's Dream), Paul Henry (Irving Berlin's White Christmas), Kelly Ann Dunn (Disney's Beauty and the Beast), Kyle Moses (Sister Act), Brad Bong (Big River, Irving Berlin's White Christmas), and Stefani Potter (The Sound of Music), and more.
