Artistic Director Mathis Huber of Austria's recreation-GROSSES ORCHESTER GRAZ announced today following this evening's concert performance that American-Taiwanese conductor Mei-Ann Chen has been appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the 17-year-old orchestra. The appointment extends through the 2021-22 season, beginning September 2019.

The League of Professional Theatre Women (Kelli Lynn Harrison & Catherine Porter, Co-Presidents), an organization which has been leading the gender parity conversation and championing women in the professional theatre for over 35 years, will present an Oral History Project event with six-time Emmy and Tony nominee Tovah Feldshuh on Monday, May 6 starting at 6pm in the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (111 Amsterdam Avenue at 65th Street). Admission to the event is FREE and seats are available on a first-come-first-seated basis. Doors will open at 5:30pm.

Hub Theatre Company of Boston launches its highly anticipated seventh season with Helen Edmundson's captivating drama The Clearing, directed by Daniel Bourque, running Friday, April 5 - Saturday, April 20 at First Church Boston, 66 Marlborough Street in Boston's Back Bay. Performances are Thursdays at 7:30 pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, and Sundays at 5 pm. Davis in Suzan-Lori Parks's acclaimed Topdog/Underdog, led by award-winning director and Broadway performer DeMone Seraphin. The play--a tensely funny and dead serious tragicomedy about two African American brothers-in-struggle--won Parks the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for drama, and the New York Times named it the best American play of the last 25 years. The production runs from March 14 to April 14, 2019, at Gunston Arts Center Theatre Two in Arlington.

The piece tells the story of three white female singers from Detroit who struggle to change a racially divided society by singing for a black record label. Book and lyrics are by William Electric Black. Music is by Black, Valerie Ghent (arranger/keyboards for Ashford & Simpson) and Gary Schreiner. Choreography is by Jeremy Lardieri. Director is Mr. Black.

Acknowledging that student loans have crippled a generation of young Americans and are keeping them from achieving their dreams, the program aims to help student loan borrowers pay off debts that may be holding them back from living their best lives. Thus far, Scholly has helped students win over $100 million dollars in scholarships and aided many in reducing their debt.
