Thanks to a generous grant from the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation and its Community Grant program, Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park is touring rural schools this fall with their Short Shakespeare production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. The tour includes visits to Colbert, Burns Flat-Dill City, Navaho, Snyder, Mountain View-Gotebo, Norwood,Tahlequah, Briggs, Tenkiller, Tushka, Valliant, Carnegie, Binger-Oney, Keota and Gracemont.

Lantern Theater Company continues its 24th season with a world premiere production of The Craftsman by celebrated Philadelphia playwright Bruce Graham. Commissioned and developed through the Lantern's New Works Initiative, Graham's new play spins a darkly ironic tale of ambition, genius, and deception. M. Craig Getting will direct a cast that includes Mary Lee Bednarek, Dan Hodge, Anthony Lawton, Brian McCann, Paul L. Nolan, and Ian Merrill Peakes. In April of 2017 at Wild Project in the East Village, a revival of James McLure's Lone Star, by NINE Theatricals, took the stage in New York City for only the second time since it's Broadway debut in 1979. The production was met with tremendous feedback and glowing reviews from New York City critics and audiences who had not before seen this lesser known work. With a demand for more shows, producers moved Lone Star, in May, to The Triad Theatre for a limited Off Broadway contract run.
