Grammy Award-winning guitarist Peter Frampton will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2024. American Composers Orchestra (ACO) announces its complete 2017-2018 season, Dreamscapes, under the leadership of Artistic Director Derek Bermel, Music Director George Manahan, and President Edward Yim, featuring ten world, U.S., and New York premieres by a diverse set of composers. ACO continues its concerts at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall (December 8, 2017 and April 6, 2018) while expanding its presence in New York to include performances at Jazz at Lincoln Center (November 7, 2017) and as part of the 2018 PROTOTYPE Festival (January 12-14, 2018). ACO continues to take its commitment to fostering new work beyond the stage in its annual Underwood New Music Readings (June 21 and 22, 2018) for emerging composers, now in its 27th year, and through EarShot, the National Orchestra Composition Discovery Network, which brings the Readings experience to orchestras across the country.

Daily Times). Described by CBC as a, "bawdy, bluesy, boozy rollicking night out at the theatre," the show follows the life, loves and career of blues and jazz singer Bessie Smith, called the "Empress of the Blues."

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is pleased to announce the 2015-2016 Citizens Bank Children's Theater Series.  Now in its 46th season, the Theater Series will present award-winning, professional theater companies featuring live performances for young audiences ages 3 and up.   Performances based on prize-winning and popular children's books adapted for the stage by Theatreworks USA (USA), Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia (Canada), Tall Stories (UK), Windmill Theatre (Australia) and Adventure Theatre MTC (USA) can be seen at various locations throughout the Pittsburgh area.    The 2015-2016 Season has expanded from five to six shows, with the final show of the season a part of the EQT Children's Theater Festival, May 12-15, 2016.
