The Cort Theatre box office will open Monday, February 27 at noon for INDECENT, the newest work by Pulitzer Prize-winner Paula Vogel (HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE), it was announced today by producersDaryl Roth, Elizabeth Ireland McCann and Cody Lassen. INDECENT begins previews Tuesday, April 4 and opens Tuesday, April 18 at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues).

The Michael Ann Russel Jewish Community Center (MAR-JCC) presents its first installment of the Yiddishkayt Entertainment Series: A Forum for the Celebration of Jewish Culture and Education with The Renaissance of Yiddishkayt and Jewish Culture. World renowned Jewish Cultural entertainers Jake Ehrenreich, Eleanor Reissa and Avi Hoffman will lead the discussion of Yiddishkayt and Jewish Culture.

Today's big news: New Yiddish Rep's GOD OF VENGEANCE, the inspiration for Broadway's upcoming INDECENT, begins tonight at La MaMa, and GMA celebrates Andrew Lloyd Webber this morning!

The performance schedule has been changed for 'Light Up The Night,' a theatrical concert of rediscovered and restored Yiddish theater songs by Ellstein, Goldfaden, Olshanetsky, Rumshinsky, and Secunda, to be presented by National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) January 1 in Edmond J. Safra Hall at Museum of Jewish Heritage, 36 Battery Place, Manhattan.  Originally two shows were planned, at 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM.  The 2:00 PM performance continues as scheduled but the 6:00 PM performance has been canceled.

Atar Hadari's penetrating new play, Merciful Father will open UP Theater's seventh season. The World Premiere of Merciful Father will runNovember 1st through November 12th in Northern Manhattan. The play is based on Sholem Asch's scandalous Yiddish play God of Vengeance which was the inspiration for Paula Vogel's new play, Indecent which premiered at the Vineyard Theatre last season. God of Vengeance premiered on Broadway at the Apollo Theatre in 1923 and featured Broadway's first lesbian kiss. The play was so far ahead of its time, the actors and producers were indicted for giving an immoral performance. Atar Hadari's, Merciful Father is a proactive new take on the story. The production is directed by UP's Artistic Director, James Bosley who has premiered three of his play with UP, including the critically acclaimed productions of Broad Channel, and Epic Poetry.

Fresh on the heels of the raucous comedy, Hand to God, City Theatre turns in a different direction to present Feeding the Dragon, an intimate and magical world premiere by the award-winning stage and screen actress, Sharon Washington. The production marks Washington's playwriting debut. Feeding the Dragon runs October 22 through November 20, 2016 in the Lester Hamburg Studio at City Theatre, directed byMaria Mileaf.

Geffen Playhouse announces the cast for its production of The Model Apartment written by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies.

The Pulitzer Prize winner and much lauded playwright Donald Margulies' currently back in Los Angeles for his revival of his 1988 Obie Award-winning THE MODEL APARTMENT. His foray into writing for film The End of the Tour made him a festival darling with nominations for Film Independent Spirit and UCLA Scripter Awards.
