Moving Image to Screen Complete Kieslowski Retrospective This Fall

Museum of the Moving Image will present the most comprehensive U.S. retrospective of all of the Polish director's features, short films, early documentary work, and a marathon viewing of the Dekalog, from October 7 through November 6, 2016. The series will also include four posthumous works based on Kieslowski's unproduced screenplays.

Tony-Nominated Eleanor Reissa Will Direct New Yiddish Rep's GOD OF VENGEANCE Off-Broadway

The Tony-nominated director Eleanor Reissa is set to helm New Yiddish Rep's contemporary staging of Sholem Asch's notorious drama 'God of Vengeance' at La MaMa this winter. The Yiddish language production's Off-Broadway opening is on Christmas Day, Sunday December 25 at 7:30pm with previews beginning Thursday December 22.  It will run for five weeks and 33 performances through Sunday January 22.

Northern Manhattan Based UP Theater Announces 2016-17 Season

UP Theater, under the direction of Artistic Director James Bosley, celebrates its seventh season of premiering penetrating new plays. Atar Hadari's provocative play Merciful Father will open UP's 2016-17 season in November and will be followed by the World Premiere of Lost/Not Found by Kirby Fields. The season will also include their annual benefit Onward & UPward in early 2017, Showing UP Artist's Salons throughout the year, and Dead of Winter Reading Series which takes place over four Sundays in January 2017.

The University of Washington School of Drama, under the leadership of Executive Director Todd London, has announced its 2016-2017 Season. As with their 75th anniversary season, the School of Drama will continue to build artistic partnerships with both local and national artists in an effort to provide more diverse learning opportunities for their students and create a laboratory environment within the School. JTS Professor Curates Yiddish Theater Exhibition at Museum of the City of New York

The Museum of the City of New York mounted an exhibition titled New York's Yiddish Theater: From the Bowery to Broadway in March 2016. It is curated by Dr. Edna Nahshon, professor of Theater and Drama at The Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) and author of a book that shares the exhibition's title, published by Columbia University Press. The exhibition will be on view through July 31, 2016.
