Beginning with its first preview tomorrow (Thursday, November 1), a limited number of balcony seats will be sold as rush tickets, priced at $29, to Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, the new play by Aaron Sorkin, directed by Bartlett Sher, and starring Jeff Daniels as Atticus Finch. Rush tickets will be limited to 2 per person and will only be available at the Shubert Theatre box office (225 West 44 Street) beginning at 10am on the day of the performance. (more...)

Harper Lee's 'TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD' Voted America's Best-Loved Novel

PBS revealed tonight that TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD was voted America's best-loved novel during this evening's GREAT AMERICAN READ "Grand Finale". The final episode, taped in front of a live audience at the Masonic Hall in New York City, counted down all 100 novels, which were first announced to the public in April. Series host Meredith Vieira joined the playwright and cast of the new Broadway play based on TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD- author Aaron Sorkin, Jeff Daniels (Atticus Finch), LaTanya Richardson Jackson (Calpurnia) and Gbenga Akinnagbe (Tom Robinson) - to celebrate the announcement of America's best-loved novel, and discuss both its lasting impact and why it resonates today. Dell'Arte Opera Announces 2019 Festival Dedicated To Women Composers

Hailed for its "compelling and innovative programming (WQXR Radio)," dell'Arte Opera Ensemble today announced its 17th annual summer festival: Voices from the Tower exclusively featuring works composed by women.  The season will include the commissioned world premiere of Princess Maleine, with a libretto (based on the play by Maurice Maeterlinck) by Bea Goodman and music by Whitney George, and the first opera ever composed by a woman, La liberazione di Ruggiero by Francesca Caccini (1625), with a libretto by Ferdinando Saracinelli.  A scenes program will feature Cendrillon by Pauline Viardot and other operatic scenes by Thea Musgrave, Victoria Bond and others, and "Les Boulangers" will be a recital of songs featuring the works of Lili and Nadia Boulanger, their contemporaries and students. EPIC Players Inclusion Company (EPIC) will open their 2018/19 season with a neuro-inclusive adaptation of the classic tale, The Little Prince. Written by Rick Cummins and John Scoullar and based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, the production is directed by EPIC company member Travis Burbee. TBS #1 Comedy Series THE GUEST BOOK Season 1 Soundtrack: Live At Chubby's Out Now

CBS Television Studios released this week the soundtrack for Season 1 of their hit TBS comedy series The Guest Book. Available everywhere, Season 1: Live at Chubby's features an 11 track collection of cover songs and new original songs written and performed by the critically acclaimed Americana duo HONEYHONEY. Comprised of Benjamin Jaffe and Suzanne Santo, who also have recurring roles in the show, HONEYHONEY were approached by Executive Producer Greg Garcia (My Name Is Earl, Raising Hope) and Music Supervisor Jonathan Leahy (Girls, Mr. Robot) to write several songs for the series, along with the award-winning theme song 'Fine By Me', and were eventually cast as actors as well. After it's debut season last year, The Guest Book became the highest rated new comedy show on cable reaching more than 3 million viewers per episode. The New York Times raved 'Helping considerably: the music of the alt-country blues duo HONEYHONEY, which is smartly deployed throughout the series.'
