TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD to Go to Trial in New York in June

The Broadway-bound production of To Kill a Mockingbird has been in legal trouble for some time, but answers may be coming soon. Yesterday an Alabama court judge granted Scott Rudin's request for an expedited trial and agreed to move the adjudication to the Southern New York circuit. Slipstream Presents Michigan Premiere of ST. SEBASTIAN By Andrew Kramer

Slipstream continues its exploration into the human experience with the Michigan premiere of St. Sebastian by award-winning playwright Andrew Kramer. Set in current day Detroit, a gay white couple moves into a historically African-American neighborhood. It's full of history and culture, and the couple thinks it's the perfect place to flip a house and make some money. Ben is a former priest, and his partner, Gideon, is a political justice junkie. Gideon fears that he and Ben are becoming 'those people' - the ones who gentrify and destroy historic neighborhoods to make a buck. As Gideon slips deeper and deeper down the path of fearing becoming what he hates the most, Ben strikes up a friendship with a neighbor boy, who happens to be black. Fear and ignorance drive the show to an inevitable tragedy. (more...)

A SummerScape commission, the new work is an interdisciplinary collaboration that draws on the talents of three of today's most potent artistic voices. Mellow Mood Announce New Album LARGE Out 4/6

Italian reggae band Mellow Mood first started while Jacopo, Lorenzo and Giulio were in high school in their home town of Pordenone (North-East Italy). Over the years, the band has had many versions, but the trio always remained. They are set to release their fifth album Large on April 6 via LA TEMPESTA DUB. Mellow Mood is led by identical twin brothers, Jacopo and Lorenzo Garzia, along with Filippo Buresta (keyboards), Antonio M. Cicci (drums), Giulio Frausin (bass, backing vocals, guitar, percussions).
