After more than two years of planning, the schedule is set and tickets are now on sale for Touchstone Theatre's ten-day Festival UnBound, a community convergence featuring more than 20 free and ticketed events October 4-13, throughout the Lehigh Valley but primarily held in the City of Bethlehem. Festival UnBound uses art to spark conversation about how the city has changed in the 20 years since the closing of Bethlehem Steel and to imagine our future together now that we are a?oeunbounda?? from the Steel.

Flat Rock Playhouse continues the 2019 Season with summer blockbuster musical and Broadway classic, South Pacific. Known for its glorious score by Rodgers and Hammerstein, the show transports audiences to the Pacific Islands in World War II as young couples struggle with the dynamics of love, war, and faith. Yet, South Pacific also showcases a vibrant, delightful comedic side found in the business of everyday life: raising children, relationship squabbles, and workplace gossip.

After a successful launch of the pilot program in summer 2017, Ensemble Connect once again presents the week-long Audience Engagement Intensive (AEI) from June 4–11 in Carnegie Hall's Resnick Education Wing. Seven pre-formed chamber ensembles selected from across U.S. and Canada—ranging in styles from classical to contemporary to folk music—come together to learn from leaders in the fields of performance and audience engagement. The eight days of tuition-free workshops are modeled after the training that is provided to Ensemble Connect fellows and is aimed at strengthening their ability to connect with all kinds of audiences. The ensembles are The Raritan Trio (New Jersey), Sprig of That (Minnesota), Catharsis Winds (Ohio), Kahlo String Quartet (formed in Mississippi), Trio Gaia (Massachusetts), Front Porch (Michigan), and Genesis Trio (Vancouver, Canada).

André Raphel conducts the Detroit Symphony Orchestra on March 8 and 9, 2019 in its annual Classical Roots Concert taking place in Orchestra Hall.  The Saturday, March 9 performance will be a gala concert and a live webcast.  This year's tribute honors  George Walker,  the esteemed composer, pianist and educator who was the first African American to win a Pulitzer Prize for Music in 1996 for Lilacs, and who passed away this past August at age 96.  Composer Robert A. Harris will be a special Classical Roots Honoree.   It will be the 41st year that the DSO has presented Classical Roots, honoring the achievements of African American composers. 

School is back in session, prompting families and educators alike to jump into an exciting new year full of new students, new teachers, and new life lessons. This fall, The Flat Rock Playhouse will bring this relatable, if a bit unpredictable, excitement to the stage with Miss Nelson is Missing. As the next Studio 52 Family Series production, Miss Nelson is Missing will run from October 26th to November 11th at the Playhouse Downtown.

St. Bartholomew's Church, the historic Episcopal parish on Park Avenue in New York City, this fall celebrates the 100th anniversary of the first service in its current location. The magnificent 1918 Romanesque-style church features a portal designed by Stanford White and a grand Byzantine-style interior – and two of New York's unlikely but outstanding concert spaces: the 150-seat chapel, an intimate and acoustically brilliant space that is perfectly suited for contemporary chamber music, and the majestic 1,000-seat sanctuary, whose Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ is the largest in New York City and one of the finest examples of the American Classic Organ in the U.S.

International Celebrity Images presents the 23rd Production of THE REEL AWARDS, an entertaining two and a half-hour tongue in cheek parody, spoof, and tribute to the real Academy Awards on Monday, February 20, 2017 at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino, 129 East Fremont Street, in Las Vegas, NV  89101.

New Ohio Theatre will present a remounting of George & Co.'s 'Holden,' directed by Anisa George and written by Anisa George in collaboration with the ensemble. Originally developed at the 2015 Ice Factory Festival, 'Holden' will be performed from January 5th to January 14th. Broadwayworld.com had the opportunity to interview Anisa George.
