Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is pleased to announce The Aletheia Piano Trio on Sunday, October 7 at 3:00 p.m. as part of the PLAY: The Classics series continuing this fall in the magnificent, indoor Event Gallery at Bethel Woods. Presented in collaboration with Shandelee Music Festival, the goal of this series is to encourage and foster young talented emerging artists, help to build and cultivate a younger audience and increase attendance of all ages.

Music and dance fill the Lackland Performing Arts Center as the Centenary Stage Company announces its 2018 - 19 full season line up of events. In addition to CSC's professional theatrical productions, the 2018 - 19 season will see the return of the January Thaw Music Festival alongside a plethora of new concerts and dance performances.

Mint Theater (Jonathan Bank, Producing Artistic Director) will present a rare revival of Days to Come by Lillian Hellman, 'one of the most important playwrights of the American theater' (New York Times). Performances will begin August 2nd and continue through September 30th at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). Opening Night is set for August 26th.

Illustrious alumni will guest-curate this summer's 25-year anniversary edition of Ice Factory 2018, New Ohio Theatre's Obie Award-winning festival. Ice Factory 2018 will present eight new works over eight weeks, June 27 - August 18, at New Ohio Theatre, located at 154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets in New York City.

Stanislav Ioudenitch, Artistic Director of Park International Center for Music (Park ICM), announced today that their 2018-2019 season would kick off in September with a new performance home, the 1900 Building in Mission Woods, Kansas. "For the first time, we will perform our entire season at the 1900 Building as we adore performing in their wonderful spaces," said Ioudenitch. On this, the occasion of what would be his 100th birthday, the New York City Ballet, for whom he choreographed and became Associate Artistic Director, presents Jerome Robbins 100 with five different programs. On Friday, May 18, 2018, I was in the David Koch Theater to see program #5.

From May 16 to 27, The Negro Ensemble Company, Inc. will present the world premiere production of 'Hercules Didn't Wade in the Water' by Michael A Jones.  The play is winner of the troupe's 2017 Emerging Playwrights Competition.  Called a 'drama with comedy,' it is a story of displacement of Black families and the forces that lead to it in modern America.  Performances are at Theatre 80 St. Marks, 80 St. Marks Place.

I was born in Belfast into a Roman Catholic family. As a child, we lived in a 'mixed area'. I played football with 'Derek', except around the 12th of July, when his mother forbade him to play with the 'wee Fenian'. New York theatre companies Parity Productions and New Perspectives Theatre Company have announced they are teaming to produce the world premiere of She Calls Me Firefly, a new American play by Teresa Lotz, directed by Ludovica Villar-Hauser. The play will premiere in June at the SoHo Playhouse.

Milwaukee's Free Shakespeare in the Park (SITP) is pleased to announce their 2018 production of "King Lear". Mr. James Pickering*, a legend of the Milwaukee stage, will appear in the title role and, in her return to Milwaukee, Ms. Lisa Gaye Dixon will direct.

Lyric Opera's production of 'The Barber of Seville' or 'The Useless Precaution' by Rossini opened Saturday evening at the Kauffman Center in the first of four performances. As is usual for the Lyric, this 'Barber' is slyly updated from the original 1816 version first performed in Rome.

New York City Ballet's 2018 Spring Season opens on Tuesday, April 24 and will continue for six weeks through June 3. The centerpiece of the Spring Season will be Robbins 100, a celebration of Jerome Robbins, NYCB's co-founding choreographer, whose remarkable contributions to the worlds of ballet and Broadway musical theater have made an indelible impression on both art forms. The three-week celebration will run from May 3 to May 20, featuring 20 works created by Robbins over the course of 40years, as well as two world premiere ballets in tribute to Robbins. Robbins 100 will open on Thursday, May 3 with a Spring Gala performance featuring Robbins'

Since the earliest days of civilization, legends abound of mythical sea creatures who lure handsome young men to the lower depths of the sea. One such story is of Ondine, which tells of a young man on a beach enamored with a beautiful shadow from the sea. This story has sparked the imaginations of composers from Dvorak's operatic masterpiece "Rusalka" to compositions by Ravel and Debussy, and a critically acclaimed play by the French dramatist Jean Giraudoux. This legend was popularized in Hans Christian Anderson's fairy tale, 'The Little Mermaid.' and in the popular Disney animated film by the same name.

Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns to Seattle's Paramount Theatre with three performances April 27-29, 2018. The Company will perform two Seattle premieres and a total of five works by a wide range of choreographers. Alvin Ailey's timeless and inspiring American masterpiece Revelations will provide the finale for all three programs, which will take place at 8pm on April 27-28 and at 2pm on April 29.
