Direct from its sold-out run at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Tony and Olivier award-winning director Trevor Nunn's 'exuberant revival' (The Telegraph) of the classic Broadway musical Fiddler on the Roof transfers to the West End for a strictly limited run. The Playhouse Theatre will be specially transformed into an immersive space for this 'shiveringly intimate chamber musical about family' (The Times).



Old traditions and young love collide in this joyous and timely celebration of life. Tevye's daughters' unexpected choice of husbands opens his heart to new possibilities, as his close-knit community also feel winds of change blowing through their tiny village.

Broadway's surprise 'head banging' hit Rock of Ages, is among the celebrated ranks of this year's Tony contenders, earning no fewer than five nominations-including a Best Actor nomination for star Constantine Maroulis. A Season 4 veteran of American Idol, Maroulis is the first contestant from the hit FOX series to earn such a prestigious distinction. But it shouldn't come as such a big shock as the actor attended the The Boston Conservatory of Music, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theater from the Boston Conservatory of Music and a minor in voice from the Berklee College of Music in 2002.

Hungry Hill, Ltd, today announced that Joseph Adams, Laura Bonarrigo, Molly Ephraim and Lauren Currie Lewis would comprise the cast of their new production, Dance of the Seven Headed Mouse, a new play by Carole Gaunt, directed by Christopher McElroen. Performances will begin June 17th at The Beckett at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street (between 9th and 10th Avenues), for a limited engagement through July 25th. Opening Night is set for Tuesday, June 23rd (7 pm).

After a 48 year absence, Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) will present the first new Broadway production of Bye Bye Birdie as the inaugural production of the new Henry Miller's Theatre (124 West 43rd Street) beginning Thursday, September 10th, 2009 with an official opening on Thursday, October 15th, 2009. Wendy Kesselman's 'The Black Monk', which ran Off-Broadway from November 30th, 2008 through January 3rd, 2009, featuring Austin Pendleton, Elon Rutberg, Julie Craig, and Scott Robertson - under the direction of Kevin Newbury and musical direction of Chris Berg (with cellist Arthur Cook), will be making an original cast recording on Monday, May 25th, 2009. The album will be produced/engineered by Grammy Award winner John Kilgore. It will be released online in the fall exclusively on iTunes, and a record deal is pending.

Due to its overwhelming popularity, Evil Dead: The Musical's run will be extended by three weekends. Originally scheduled to close on June 14, the show will now end Sunday, July 5 (no performance on July 4). Show times are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 7 p.m. Sundays. A special 11 p.m. performance will replace the 8 p.m. performance on Friday, June 19. Rush tickets are not available for this show.

The Tony Administration Committee revealed the names of a quartet of honorees who are to be recognized in the four non-competitive Tony categories. Composer/lyricist Jerry Herman, Virginia's Signature Theatre, and longtime press agent Shirley Herz will be honored at the 63rd annual Tony Awards ceremony on June 7. Actress/writer Phyllis Newman will receive the newest Tony Award for her volunteer work as an advocate for women's health.

Bring on the Men, which was replaced by Good and Evil for the show's 1500+ performance run at the Plymouth Theater, was re-inserted into the show following the original Broadway production.
