Magic and Adventure Abound in New Musical at Book-It

Book-It Repertory Theatre will bring magic, adventure, and inspiration this holiday season with Howl's Moving Castle, a new musical based on an original book by Diana Wynne Jones. Founding Co-Artistic Director Myra Platt will adapt and direct the musical stage adaptation of the award-winning fantasy novel and local actor Justin Huertas will write music and lyrics.

Washington Ensemble Theatre has announced a striking three-play lineup for its 2017/18 season, which includes an irreverent tale about the hacktivist group Anonymous, a rolicking family drama about the demographic you love to hate, and a dark and stormy examination of the science fiction future of intimacy. Nashville's Artist's Cooperative Theatre 1 (ACT 1) will kick off its 29th season this fall with a production of Delia Ephron and Nora Ephron's Love, Loss and What I Wore, playing the iconic Darkhorse Theater October 6-21. Undermain Theatre's 34th season examines the world from a largely female perspective with three mainstage productions and adds a 4 week reading series of new American work in the spring. Our world premiere and season opener examines the world of Mexican cartels as portrayed by an all-female cast, by an evolving young writer. Our fall production is a regional premiere of an established Pulitzer-prize winning playwright, which takes place in an American setting inhabited and driven by three different generations of women in an eerie atmosphere near a Civil War battleground.

European Literature Night to Land at Bohemian National Hall Next Month

European Literature Night (ELN) comes to Bohemian National Hall in New York City on June 2 from 7-10pm, with actors performing a curated selection of passages from fifteen exceptional literary works of fiction and poetry from across the European continent.
