Darren Lee Cole, producing director of the not-for-profit, SoHo Playhouse has announced the final round of selections for this year's Fringe Encore Series.

Billy Porter is not Lola. That is is message that the politically opinionated Tony winner is trying to spread in his hometown. Porter, who just performed a concert at Pittsburgh's Hartwood Acres, has just written a piece explaining some of his 'offensive' comments onstage. Porter writes:

The Barrow Group Theatre Company, recipient of the Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Awards, has announced its lineup for the 2017-2018 season with the New York premiere of Muswell Hill, a play by Torben Betts, followed by the world premiere of The Thing With Feathers, a new play by Scott Organ, the revival of A Walk in the Woods by Lee Blessing, and a special benefit performance of the award-winning solo play The Tricky Part by Martin Moran at The Barrow Group Mainstage Theatre (312 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor).

Washington Ensemble Theatre has announced a striking three-play lineup for its 2017/18 season, which includes an irreverent tale about the hacktivist group Anonymous, a rolicking family drama about the demographic you love to hate, and a dark and stormy examination of the science fiction future of intimacy. The season, which marks The Ensemble's 14th year as a producing theatre company in Seattle, is themed 'No Surprise' and will look at toxic masculinity under a microscope.
