MENGELE by Philip Wharam and Tim Marriott

1979, a beach in Brazil. An elderly man takes his routine morning swim. Out at sea he has a seizure and is washed ashore where he is confronted by a local woman, who he assumes has saved him. Flattered and entranced by this enigmatic presence, he is seduced into revealing himself. As he seeks to justify his life he ultimately only succeeds in damning himself. SHELL SHOCK by Tim Marriott

After serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, Tommy Atkins' observations on the absurdities of every-day life on city street are frequently comic, occasionally absurd, sometimes violent but always poignant. Wired energy leads to hyper-emotional responses; from post office queues and a trip to Ikea to her relationships with family and friends can lead to alienation and anger.

BLAMED: AN ESTABLISHED FICTION by Callie Prendville

Blamed: An Established Fiction is a new play that combines text with live music and dance to examine the girls and women throughout mythology, history, and literature who have been blamed for the ills of the world. Each culture seems to have one thing in common: A well-known tale in which a girl does something horrible, or is the victim of something horrible, and she ruins everything and everyone around her. From Eve and Pandora to Lilith and La Llorona, Blamed brings the women to life in an intoxicating mix of live music, dance, and story.

JUST LIKE LIFE by Donovan Glover

In a whitewashed room with a white fridge, white sink, white porcelain toilet center stage and white everything else; Hey-Zeus frantically scrubs the white tiled floor with his toothbrush as his doting Quote Mamma watches. She tells us, "To live in clean is to live in perpetual org*sms." Their lives are a cycle of repetitions and restated experience echoing impotent frustration and mindless obliviousness. So far, we have shades of Godot, No Exit and Old Dad, Poor Dad.... Hey-Zeus sits on the toilet as Quote Mamma feeds him Jello and wisdom.

Now in its 12th season, the Fringe International Encore Series will continue to celebrate the "Best of the Fests" despite there not being a New York International Fringe Festival. This year's selection committee has looked to renowned Fringe Festivals around the globe including Adelaide, Brighton, Edinburgh, Winnipeg and Hollywood Fringe Festivals to fill the slate for the coveted encore performances slots.

The Fringe Encore Series was created to provide opportunities to those Fringe shows that excelled over other Fringe productions both artistically and commercial, by offering them an extended run at the historic SoHo Playhouse. This extended run gives these worthy shows a platform for future productions and success. Many of the previous productions featured in the series have gone on to extensive Off-Broadway runs and international success including such as Drama Desk Nominees Krapp 39 (FringeNYC 2008), Jamaica Farewell (FringeNYC 2009) and Rap Guide To Religion (Edinburgh Fringe 2015).

To help underwrite the presentation of 16 global Fringe Shows the SoHo Playhouse has launched a Crowd Funding Campaign on Indiegogo.com in the hopes of raising $100,000.

SOHO PLAYHOUSE serves the downtown theater community as a historic 199 seat Off-Broadway venue. It was on this stage that Mr. Albee produced many first works of Terrance McNally, John Guare, Lanford Wilson, Sam Shephard, AR Gurney and LeRoi Jones. The Playhouse is on a mission to preserve and protect the wonderful artists that make up Off-Broadway's downtown theatre scene. Darren Lee Cole has been artistic director since 2004.

Fringe Encore Series (Britt Lafield- Founder) was created as a learning center and stepping stone for the young talent and amazing productions that are a part of The New York International Fringe Festival every August in New York City. Now having expanded to include the largest Fringe Festivals in the world, Fringe Encore Series presents, promotes and educates the "best of" productions from each festival and allows more time for theater going public to catch the fresh new voices of today's theater.
