The Michael Chekhov Theatre Festival announces their spring fundraiser to be performed at the Ridgefield Theater Barn on Saturday, April 13 at 7:00 pm. This will be a staged reading of Christopher Durang's 'Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike', the winner of the 2013 Tony Award for BEST PLAY which was inspired by the works of Anton Chekhov. The evening will include the performance, an assortment of light refreshments and one free drink. There will be a Chekhovian signature cocktail as well!

The Black Maria Film Festival returns to Princeton University's Lewis Center for the Arts with a screening of five more films from the 2019 tour on Friday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the James Stewart Film Theater at 185 Nassau Street. The short documentary, experimental, narrative, and animated films, introduced by Festival Director Jane Steuerwald, focus on the human experience and issues of global importance and are by filmmakers from Germany, the U.S., the United Kingdom, Mexico, and Greece. The event is free and open to the public; no tickets are required. Free parking is available in University Lot #10 off William Street, behind 185 Nassau.

The New American Voices Play Reading Series is a national playwriting contest that annually showcases four top plays by American playwrights.  The winning plays are selected from blind reads of hundreds of submissions by emerging author from across the country. The Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House MFA Acting Program is proud to present Noel Coward's classic comedy Hay Fever. This madcap play about a weekend with the eccentric Bliss family will star the MFA Class of 2020 and a guest performer.  Director Jerrold Scott's production will take the audience back to the 1920's and remind them of the joy of life and fear of boredom. The show will run from February 27th-March 9th in Helen Theatre at Playhouse Square.

Many news sources are reporting a fire occurring early this morning at the historic American Shakespeare Festival Theatre in Stratford, CT. According to Fox61, actors from Katherine Hepburn to Christopher Walken performed there.
